Cooks & Soldiers draws its inspiration from the people and the cuisine of the Basque Country in Spain and France. The Spanish call it Pais Vasco; the Basque say Euskal Herria. Regardless of nomenclature, it stands for thousands of years of fierce independence, cultural autonomy, and unrivaled cuisine. Pintxos are the Basque answer to tapas. From the word for “thorn,” a Pintxo is traditionally served on bread, pierced with a toothpick. Pintxo Bars represent the casual, convivial aspect of Basque dining, where guests order for the table over a glass of Txakoli (crisp, slightly bubbly Basque wine) or tart Basque cider. Pintxo Bars are loud, vibrant and celebrate the joy of companionship and conversation over the formality of coursed dining. Cooks & Soldiers seeks to recreate this environment with our Pintxos Tradicionales, served on toast, and our Pintxos Especiales, composed expressions from our chefs. The Asador, on the other hand, is a wood-fired grill, elevating the simple yet divine combination of olive oil, salt, pepper, and smoke. At Cooks & Soldiers, our Asador is the centerpiece of our kitchen where whole meats and seafood are grilled over hot coals. These larger asador dishes are designed to be enjoyed communally, accompanied by a variety of fire roasted vegetable offerings.

In 1947 Italian born Arcito Castellucci married Sophia Zavanlagos, a girl from Sparta, Greece. Shortly after their youngest and only son, Federico II was born. As a young immigrant family with a strong entreprenuerial spirit, they opened a little restaurant in Pawtucket, Rhode Island called Archie’s Tavern. Sophia had grown up in the restaurant business and knew it well. Arcito had the cooking ability and the personal touch with the guests, and thus the original seed of Sugo was sewn. Even as a young child, Federico II, worked alongside his father at Archie’s learning the ins and outs of the restaurant business. Not too long after Federico started his own family, he found himself moving down to Atlanta to open a new restaurant with his wife and children called Sugo. An inspiring blend of unique family style dishes and sincere hospitality with an absolute dedication to sourcing the best local and sustainable ingredients, Sugo is a tribute to those who came before us. Now Sugo is in the hands of the next generation. Piastra is a family owned modern Italian restaurant. 100 % Scratch kitchen, award wining wine list, craft cocktails and local beer. We have an extensive Zero ABV list including many craft Non-alcoholic Beers. Our private room holds up to 45. There is no minimum with food and beverage purchase. There is a $100 deposit and $35 room charge to secure a reservation. The deposit is applied to the final total of the bill and refundable up to 24 hours before the event.

You could say that Porch Light is the new face of the neighborhood hangout. Ethnically inspired to serve a consumer base that is craving more Latin spiced foods, Porch Light combines the adventure of a local dive with an updated, approachable look and feel. Customers will adapt easily to the fast casual service by day and the full service platform during the dinner hour. A lunch counter provides a front and center view of the goings on in the kitchen and creates an intimate connection between the guests and the staff. Not resting on meat alone, Porch Light will feature a nimble assortment of side dishes including street corn, plantains, yucca fries, moles and other eccentric snacks. Proteins, vegetables and fruits will be sourced from local farms. Thirsty guests can choose from curated selection of indie craft beers and small vineyard vino by the glass. Inspired by the chefs’ personal cultural background, Food Terminal’s concept reflects Malaysia’s diverse culinary cuisine. Malaysian food draws influence from India, Guang Zhou, Hokkien, Teochew, and Hakka provinces due to the early 1900’s migration for tin and railroad labor demand. As such, Food Terminal’s menu features a high variety of Asian street foods with heavy emphasis on Malaysian cuisine. Food Terminal’s mission is to bring the most authentic Asian-style street taste and experience to Buford Highway.

Every day, we check our employees, and we have also installed six plasma cooling generators in all of our HVAC units, which kill any airborne viruses, germs, and mold as they pass through the system. We simply have two questions: Please stay at home and try again another day if you are not feeling 100 percent. We have no intention of leaving the country. 2. Don't forget to bring a mask. Our number one concern is to keep our employees healthy so that you may relax and enjoy yourself. When a result, please be prepared to cover your shoulders as you pass through the dining area.
