The Barrow Mansion has an eclectic, storied history, one that has evolved and remains current in Jersey City’s cultural landscape. Named for its first owner, Dr. William Barrow, who lived here with his wife, Eliza Brower, the Mansion has undergone several transformations throughout the years. Eliza’s brother-in-law, Cornelius Van Vorst, owned much of Jersey City, then largely tidal marsh, and decided to build twin mansions on the higher ground in 1837. Van Vorst aspired to develop a fashionable Manhattan suburb, and reserved one lot to build beautiful Van Vorst Park, which retains its splendor to this day. The mansion where the Van Vorst family lived was torn down in the 1920s. An important reminder of the early developments of this part of Jersey City, the aspirations of its builders, and the changing demographic patterns of the city since its creation, The Barrow Mansion is listed in the National and New Jersey Register of Historic Places.

Located in New York City, The Love Shack is a surreal photographic location and event space. Alexander and Brittany Love designed and built two life-size dollhouses inside an abandoned industrial building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. A large majority of the pieces of furniture and lighting you see are either original designs, or they have been restored and modified from their original forms. Some of our pieces, such as our one-of-a-kind lighting designs and The Library Chair, are available for purchase. In addition to photoshoots, small corporate events like cocktail parties, weddings, and other intimate gatherings, the Love Shack can be used as a performance space or as a screening room. His unique open kitchen and fish market, double-height ceilings, walls of windows, and two mezzanine-level private dining rooms created the groundwork for what would become New York's and the world's standard bearer for Mediterranean cuisine and the freshest, most exquisite ingredients. An event facility with four private dining rooms, a full service bar, a separate kitchen for events, private restrooms, and separate coat check is included in the restaurant's price. Our private dining rooms are the perfect backdrop for special occasions such as family birthdays, team meetings, or quiet dinners with friends. Removing one of our sliding wood-paneled walls will reveal a bar area at the base of our spiral staircase, allowing you to book the full room for your Christmas party, seminar or cocktail reception! In order to provide you with a seamless and outstanding experience, our events staff is glad to accompany you through the process. Mezzanine Private Dining Milos New York is distinguished by two private dining rooms that are completely enclosed in glass and provide diners with a bird's eye view of the main dining area.
