The expansive, open floor plan is highlighted by towering, large windows, vaulted ceilings with exposed rafters, and two big fireplaces, among other features. About the Client Jeff was born and raised right here in Charleston. He decided to make the move to Awendaw when he found a dream piece of property that came on the market back in 2018. Jeff spent 10 long months working to get the place the way he always pictured it could be. Since moving in late 2019, him and his 2 dogs (Gamble & Gus) have loved every minute of it! Gamble is an older yellow lab and Gus is a young German Shepard. As much as he takes pride in his property, he loves to show off his dogs! The term “Blind Tiger” was coined in the late 1800s to describe the illicit drinking and gambling establishments opening their doors as temperance legislation swept across the country. The first “Blind Tiger” in South Carolina sprung up in the Holy City in 1893 as a defiant rebuttal to the dispensary laws. Local lore suggests Broad Street was home to many houses of “ill repute” throughout the years. In 1992, ninety-nine years after the first “Blind Tigers” appeared, the Blind Tiger Pub opened in its current location, paying homage to a historic tradition. Despite changing hands several times throughout the years, the Blind Tiger Pub has always remained a fixture of Charleston society.
