Thistle Hill is the most spectacular cattle baron era estate that has been preserved, and it is also one of the most prominent residential landmarks in Fort Worth. Thistle Hill is a Georgian Revival home that exemplifies the architectural magnificence of Fort Worth's affluent pioneers. The neighborhood where it is located was formerly known as Quality Hill. In the year 1904, Albert Buckman Wharton, Jr. and his wife Electra Waggoner Wharton, who was the daughter of a wealthy cattleman named W.T. Waggoner, moved into this home that was 11,000 square feet and included 18 rooms. The home was remodeled by Sanguinet and Staats in 1911, after Elizabeth and Winfield Scott bought the estate for $90,000 and commissioned them to do so. The original house had been designed by Sanguinet and Staats. The primary bulk of the house is a gambrel-roofed structure that is two and one-half stories tall and has semi-circular bays on either side. The mansion is accentuated by towering chimneys as well as a massive porch that has limestone columns. The roof is covered in glossy green tiles, and the walls are elaborately framed in cast stone. The outside is red brick. The foyer welcomes guests with a grand staircase and abundant woodwork as two of its prominent features. The enclosed gardens of 1.5 acres, which include a magnificent carriage house, have been preserved. In 1975, the home was included in the National Register of Historic Places. In 1977, it was recognized as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, and in 1978, it became the first Historic and Cultural Landmark in Fort Worth.

Brushy Creek Event Center sits on 53 acres in Farmersville, Texas, where it shares its land with ThrowAway Ponies, a horse rescue nonprofit. Founded in 2016 by Karen Bander and Jaclyn Bander, the venue hosts weddings, birthday parties, and corporate events in a rustic, country setting. The property's main barn spans 3,400 square feet, with a 30-by-60-foot main area that comfortably seats 110 guests for dinner, dancing, and a DJ setup, and holds up to 150 guests at max occupancy. The adjoining "Saloon" bar area opens onto both the outdoor patio and the indoor main space, with wine glasses available for rent, two mini fridges, and ample counter space. Memory Lane Ranch & Lodge sits on ten acres of Texas Hill Country in Dripping Springs, shaded by oak trees more than a century old. The award-winning venue, established fifteen years ago, centers its ceremonies on a tall wooden pergola with a working water fountain backdrop, where white pew seating accommodates up to 250 guests. Nearby, the rustic cedar-and-stone reception hall seats up to 300 people and comes with tables and chairs, a small DJ stage, and flexible floor plans for weddings both intimate and large — it also doubles as the property's rain-plan backup. Couples can extend the celebration with on-site lodging for up to 17 overnight guests. The main lodge sleeps 13 across four downstairs and two upstairs rooms, with a full-service kitchen and a gathering area for up to 50 guests that suits a rehearsal dinner. A private honeymoon suite and a groom's suite, each sleeping two, round out the accommodations, and overnight guests have access to a secluded pool and hot tub throughout their stay. Inspired by a trip to Tuscany, The Vineyard at Florence began as a working vineyard on the gently sloped hills of Florence, Texas, and grew into a boutique hotel and resort with a winery, restaurant, day spa, and private event spaces. Its main building, Villa Firenze, was originally built in New York State around 1850 using timber-frame construction, then carefully transported to the property and restored; the surrounding buildings were designed in the same old Italian style, with tile roofs and warm exterior tones. The resort produces its own wines on-site, earning gold, silver, and bronze medals at the Rodeo Uncorked San Antonio International Wine Competition from 2021 through 2024. For weddings and private events, the property offers a range of settings, from Ella Amore's expansive vineyard-view spaces for large gatherings to the more intimate Winemaker's Villa. Choctaw Stadium, for example, demonstrates this. With approximately 48,000 open-air seating, this 270-acre multi-purpose stadium has been the home of the Texas Rangers baseball team since 1994 and has hosted two World Series games as well as the 1995 All-Star Game. Besides sporting events, Choctaw Stadium can hold a variety of public and private functions, ranging from concerts to banquets. Are you organizing a fundraising event or holiday party? It was decided in 2020 to rearrange the original Choctaw Stadium plan so that it could also be used as a football and soccer stadium. The park's exterior is comprised of granite and brick, with a home run porch in right field and an asymmetrical playing field, which is a frequent feature of ballparks built during the first half of the twentieth century. The playing field is made of actual grass, namely Tifway 419 turf, which is lush and luxurious. And, of course, the Lone Star, a symbol of Texan pride, is prominently displayed on the park's exterior and interior, as well as on its signage.
