About Justine Bursoni Photography
Founded in 2008
For the past eight years, I’ve found myself as a Chicago wedding photographer and a Brooklyn wedding photographer who captures creative couples candidly. Not too long ago, I graduated in May 2004 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in art history and gender + women’s studies. I completed a master’s degree in art education with a certification to teach in 2010. One day, I will open a not-for-profit after-school art program because I owe my everything to those who taught me in such a setting. In the meantime, I get my kicks from working behind the camera and traveling for work and pleasure. I learned photography during high school while working at Chicago’s Gallery 37 program. I still ache for the smell of chemicals on my hands as I develop my own film. Today, I work predominantly digitally and get to tinker with film on the side. I own a variety of cameras: Canon 5D Mark IV; 35mm Canon EOS 1V; instant film beauties: Polaroid Spectra QPS, Polaroid One600, and Fujifilm Instax 210; and the medium format lovelies: my grandfather’s old Airesflex, Holga, Sprocket Rocket, Domino La Sardina, and the dreamy Diana F+. My wedding work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, A Practical Wedding, H&H Weddings, Elizabeth Anne Designs, Equally Wed, The Black Tie Bride, Brooklyn Bride, The Knot, The Knot NYC in-print, Grey Likes Weddings, Swooned, Every Last Detail, Fab You Bliss, Borrowed + Blue, Landlocked Bride, and more. In 2016, I was awarded Top 50 Photographer award from Photolucida’s Critical Mass for my photo series on Dying Of ALS.
