From the moment Chef Daniel Boulud could hold a spoon, he remembers savoring his mother’s potato dish – Le Gratin Dauphinois, a favorite he remains to make on all celebratory occasions. The symbolic and casual restaurant connects Chef Daniel with the traditional bistros and bouchons of his hometown of Lyon, France, known for their welcoming ambiance and soulful cuisine. The rustic menu reflects a soulful approach to seasonality, bright flavors, and classic techniques highlighting special ingredients from local purveyors. Lyonnais classics such as “Quenelle de Brochet au Gratin” and “Steak Tartare à la Parisienne” share space with seasonal dishes and “Plat du Mois” – a rotating dish of the month showcasing regional cuisine, meant to share. Our wine list boasts more than 100 offerings, with a special focus on the wine regions surrounding Lyon, including Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Rhône Valley. The cocktail menu features both classic and original selections, perfectly paired with our Lyonnaise cuisine. A selection of fortified wines and bitter liqueurs is offered as aperitifs and digestifs to elegantly complete any meal. Marble floors, wooden chairs, cigar-colored banquettes and decorative detailed tiles featuring garden flowers and cockatoos adorn the walls, contributing to the restaurant’s whimsical character, while the coffered ceilings and mirrored accents make the space feel bright and airy. Marc Dennis, a local Brooklyn-based artist, known for his hyper-realistic paintings, contributed several floral-themed pieces to be featured throughout the dining room.

After years of experience as the Sous Chef at local favorite Roebling Tea Room and becoming Chef/Partner at River Styx in Brooklyn, he opened his own place 21 Greenpoint in 2016. Located right next to the Transmitter Park waterfront in Greenpoint, Brooklyn - ‘21’ quickly became a neighborhood favorite. Homer’s focus has always been on creating flavorful, seasonal, unpretentious fare. This ethos and effort has placed 21 Greenpoint and Murray as a Michelin Bib Gourmand award-winner consistently since 2018. 21 Greenpoint is a New York City Bistro in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating areas. Our space Our dining room’s design is inspired by Lebanon in the 60s; pale ash wood contrasts with custom-pressed teal tiles, an abundance of plants, floor to ceiling windows on three sides. Retractable glass doors divide our dining room from our seasonal terrace which sprawls out over the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The space is surrounded by a lush planter which features a bounty of herbs, grasses, and small flowering plants from the North-East. It’s a gorgeous space for an on-site ceremony or cocktail hour, and it’s part of any private event held here. Our cuisine Beyond our physical space, our emphasis is on excellent food and warm, gracious hospitality. We want you and your guests to feel completely at ease from the moment you walk through our doors. Our menus take inspiration from the Mediterranean coastline, and we offer both buffet and family-style options. Our wine list features natural wines from the coastal Mediterranean region. Our cocktail menu highlights delicious riffs on classic drinks (think G&T’s with Turmeric and Lemongrass) and beers from local producers like Other Half and Folksbier. Our pricing We use a flat-fee structure, similar to an event minimum spend. This pricing is designed to cover almost everything, and includes food and beverage for up to 70 guests seated or 85 standing during peak season. While you are totally welcome to look into additional decor details, everything that is used for service is included in your private event. This covers the basics like glassware, plates, flatware, and napkins, but it also covers use of our votive candles, bud vases, table numbers, cake stand, easels, etc. We're also happy to create and print personalized menus for your event in-house. Evening events are typically 6pm - 11pm and daytime events are typically held from 11am - 3pm. New York sales tax, gratuity, and a 5% administrative fee are applied to event subtotals.
