The Merchant's House Museum is New York City's only family home to survive intact — inside and out — from the 19th century. A few months into the COVID-19 pandemic, Jarrod Fox and Taylor Lintz decided they wanted to bring back the joy of entertainment that the Williamsburg community was lacking. Taking inspiration from an outdoor movie theater, Jarrod figured if people can get together and socially distance themselves to watch a movie, he could find a way to make the same thing happen with a bar. His idea, TailGate Outdoor Sports Bar, grew larger as he approached a number of venues with the concept. Taylor then quit her full-time day job to take over operations and help invest in the bar, and the rest is history. TailGate Outdoor Sports Bar was made with COVID-19 in mind to create a one-of-a-kind bar and entertainment experience. Each table fits up to 10 guests, has its own heater if needed, a 65 inch TV, a QR Code for contactless food and beverage orders, and a hand sanitizing station.
