Horticultural expert Tom Tinguely lived in his country home for 25 years, manicuring his gardens and nurturing carefully chosen plants and flowers with love. In 2009 he moved downtown to be closer to his garden center, a South Congress landmark called The Great Outdoors. He stayed at the country home on the weekends, often hosting private parties for his friends and family. When Tom’s niece was engaged that same year, she searched for the perfect outdoor venue in Austin, and Tom graciously offered his magnificent gardens to host her wedding. Tom’s partner Danny Hatt, who coordinated events in Charleston, South Carolina moved to Austin in 2009 and he was eager to jump on board to take on the planning aspects of the wedding. His eye for style added the touches that transformed a small garden party into an elegant event and his experience in event coordination made the wedding a successful and memorable occasion. This garden wedding inspired Tom and Danny to open The Hummingbird House together and our first couple, Nadine and Andy, became husband and wife on April 10th, 2009! Since then, The Hummingbird House has hosted hundreds of events including weddings, charity events, anniversary parties, birthday celebrations, vow renewals, elopement galas, holiday gatherings, corporate events, graduation parties, and photo shoots!

It was originally constructed in 1904 for the C.H. Alexander family and is an unusually well-proportioned design of English influenced architecture with a neo-classical influence that is still standing today. The Dallas Woman's Forum purchased the building in 1930, and it was refurbished and redecorated in 1967. The front columns, which are made of Vermont granite and are two storeys tall, are a focal point. The gateway roof is supported by the columns, and the entablature that surrounds the roof is basic in design. The porch is reached through a set of wide stairs, with built-in benches flanking either side. The massive double doors with patterned beveled glass are a thing of breathtaking beauty. The nostalgic setting of a turn-of-the-century mansion is the perfect backdrop for a variety of events including weddings and receptions, luncheons and teas, bridal and baby showers, holiday parties, formal dinners and cocktail parties, corporate events and organizational meetings. It is one mile east of the Dallas Arts District to find this exquisite antique home. The Alexander Mansion is available for rental for any event and may serve as your personal entertaining space. A 6500-square-foot white barn located in the center of a grove of gorgeous Texas oak trees serves as our venue. The barn is situated on a 100-acre plot of land with open fields and scattered trees. We can fulfill your wishes whether you want to say "I do" in the fields or the forests, or indoors with air conditioning. A big covered porch adjoins a 30'x80' turf area with string lights hanging overhead in our 35-foot barn. The 3600-square-foot grand room, entryway, big prep kitchen, and lovely bridal suite are all located on the lower level. The groom's suite and office, as well as a balcony overlooking the great chamber, are located upstairs. At Old Bethany, every detail is carefully considered. Shiplap was used on the walls and the ceiling was painted white. The grassy space is great for ceremonies, parties, dances, and whatever else you can think of. The main chamber, which is unadorned because it does not require anything, has large windows that let in plenty of natural light, making it ideal for photographs — the chandeliers dangle overhead for a final touch, like a lovely necklace on a bride. The wood flooring are ideal for dancing or simply looking. The pure-white stairwell with black iron railing encourages you to ascend. I'm sure many brides fluffed their gowns for wedding photos here at Old Bethany. You have access to the premises from 9:00 a.m. to midnight, 350 chairs and 35 tables, a venue organizer on site, a security guard, and various possibilities for your event, both inside and out.

Housed in the 1878 Millett Opera House in downtown Austin, The Austin Club occupies a building once second in size and grandeur only to Galveston's opera house, with 24-inch limestone walls, a hand-painted ceiling, and a balcony original to its performance-hall days. Notable figures from John Philip Sousa to William Jennings Bryan once appeared on its stage before the building later served as a skating rink, a Knights of Columbus hall, and a public school property. The Austin Club, founded in 1949, has leased and restored the building since 1979. Today the club hosts weddings, galas, corporate events, and private dinners across seven indoor and outdoor rental spaces, including the Medallion Ballroom, which accommodates up to 250 seated or 300 standing guests. San Antonio Botanical Garden sits on 39 acres just minutes from downtown San Antonio, on land gifted to the city in 1899 by George W. Brackenridge and formerly home to the Brackenridge Waterworks. The Garden opened to the public in 1980 and has since grown into a home for more than 1,000 plant species, including the Kumamoto En, an authentic Japanese garden designed by the Emperor's gardener and gifted from San Antonio's sister city in 1989. For private events, the Garden offers several distinct settings, from the Amphitheater, a historic converted water reservoir framed by wisteria and crossvine columns, to the Greehey Lawn, an open-air space beneath mature live oak trees that can seat up to 720 guests banquet-style. River Bend Nature Center sits on twenty acres in Wichita Falls, Texas, where forests, wetlands, and gardens typical of the Rolling Plains ecosystem meet along the River Bottom Forest Trail. The nonprofit nature center offers several outdoor venues for private events, including the Elizabeth Prothro Pavilion, the J.S. Bridwell Terrace, and the Forest Ceremony Site. The 7,000-square-foot Elizabeth Prothro Pavilion overlooks 15 acres of bottomland forest and accommodates up to 500 guests, making it suited to large wedding receptions, galas, and corporate gatherings. Nearby, the J.S. Bridwell Terrace offers an open-air setting planted with native vegetation for up to 200 guests, while the wooded Forest Ceremony Site, built around a rustic arbor of native wood branches, provides an intimate backdrop for ceremonies of up to 130 guests. The Rotary North Library serves as a bridal or groom preparation room for renters using the grounds. Rentals include tables, chairs, and a sound system in the Pavilion, and outside catering is welcome since the center does not operate an on-site kitchen.
