Our chefs are an integral part of service. Roister’s food is rooted in primal cooking techniques combined with modern technology when it produces better results. The results are a combination of understated platings and vibrant flavors. It is the perfect environment for celebrating with a party, small or large, for dinner, brunch, or cocktails and snacks. We have event packages to fit each of these occasions. Supper Clubs are a Midwestern tradition and our St. Clair Supper Club is named after chef Achatz's home town in Michigan. Just below Roister we've created a comfortable spot to enjoy first class Prime Rib, Sweet Brandy Old Fashioned’s, Spicy Shrimp Cocktails, and delicious dishes and daily specials. Welcome to the Firehouse Art Studio! A gathering place to celebrate life, community and art in Chicago's oldest firehouse. We are a mission driven organization focused on self expression, opportunity, and empowerment. Today, the Firehouse Art Studio is a gathering place for creative learning and communal celebration, but many visitors may not realize the significance of the building they’re walking into. The Firehouse Art Studio is actually the oldest firehouse in the City of Chicago! It was the first fire station built after the Chicago fire in 1871. It was constructed in 1872 and opened as a Firehouse in 1873. Chicago Fire Department’s Engine 18 moved into the building that year and it remained their home for the next 135 years. The back area of the building was designed for the horses, the front area for the wagons they pulled. The entire second floor was made up of offices and living quarters, each room with its own fire pole so the sleeping firefighters could quickly slide into action. In 1916, the front facade was redesigned and recessed making room for the widening of Roosevelt Rd. and the back of the building was expanded. The floors were reinforced and the overhead doors were enlarged to make room for a new era of fire trucks that would soon replace the horses and wagons. This was the only major alteration in the building’s history and even then, most of the original features were left untouched.

Our space, which is the size of a full city block, can hold up to 500 people. The venue is designed to transform to the needs of our guests. VU has the ability to properly celebrate and gather for any occasion, from variable set-up to moveable walls. VU's event spaces come with different levels of furnishings. Rentals vary based on the need for space, the number of guests, and the type of event happening. If a rental is required, your event coordinator will send over an estimate of the rental cost, which will be added to your final event order.

The space is Art Moderne style with Edgar Miller paintings on the windows. Space Details: - 1400 square feet - Seating Capacity = 16 - Access to Full Kitchen - Free Coffee - 2.5 Bathrooms - Speaker System - Fireplace Use - Washer/Dryer Use - Red Line is one block away - BYOB allowed - Outside food is allowed The property was built in 1936 and designed by Andrew Rebori. The space has quartz counter tops, and unique white glass subway tiles that offer modernism with antique undertones, plus a spiraled staircase. Features curved walls, with glass block windows. There's also an outdoor courtyard with seating. It is located a few blocks from North Ave beach and Oak Street beach plus the restaurants and shopping of the Gold Coast. There's also a Jewel Osco that's about a five minute walk away. In the mid-1930s, Frank J. Fisher, a Marshall Field’s executive, commissioned the architect Andrew Rebori to design a residential property that would also generate some income. Rebori recruited the muralist and craftsman Edgar Millerto help detail the spaces with stained glass and other finishes. This is an ideal space for small gatherings and professional events. Creativo Loft is an intimate private loft, specializing in small weddings, elopements and private social events. Our building dates back to 1887, and features original rustic hardwood floors, tin ceilings and other vintage features. As a raw space, it can be transformed to really any look, modern, vintage, formal, casual, and anything in between. We are centrally located at the intersection of Chicago Ave. & Milwaukee Ave., less than 2 miles from north Michigan Ave., in the River West / West Town neighborhood, approximately 10 minutes drive from most downtown hotels. We offer several event services in-house, and can assist clients with event planning and vendor referrals. Catering and alcohol is handled by any outside professional full-service catering company of your choice, provided that they meet our venue requirements for the correct licenses, insurance, and service capabilities. Our venue fees include tables, chairs, linens, and standard set-up for your event. Capacity with banquet seating with room for dancing is 74 people. For dining-only (no dancing) we can seat up 84 max. For standing cocktail parties, with highboy tables, the capacity is up to 100 standing guests. On average, events at our venue generally have between 30 - 70 people.
