  WEDDINGS & SPECIAL EVENTS IN THE GARDEN We know a little little about birds and bees. The craziness of the day collides with the tranquility of the garden. The Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden, with its lovely garden and historic mansion, is the perfect setting to take in the sights and sounds of your wedding day or special celebration. In the heart of ancient Palo Alto, we can accommodate an intimate celebration of up to 50 people. For your ceremony, choose from the Rose Garden, Wisteria Garden, or Tea House Patio, as well as reception space in the Carriage House or Tea House Patio. Our event coordinator can assist you in putting together the perfect gathering. RENTAL DETAILS With over 20 years of expertise at Gamble Garden, our wedding/event coordinator will assist you with the planning of your special event. Gamble Garden can host groups of up to 50 people and is available for rental Monday through Friday evenings, as well as Saturday and Sunday. You and your guests will enjoy the first floor of the Main House, which includes the Dining Room, Living Room, and Library with veranda; the Carriage House and Carriage House Patio; and the Tea House and Tea House Patio when you choose Gamble Garden for your special occasion. Within your rental area are the Rose Garden, the Allée, and the Wisteria Garden, all of which are perfect for photography at any time of year. For non-profits, we are glad to offer a special weekday rental rate; please call for further information. There is a discount if you book an event within 30 days of the event date.   The enchanted site upon which Adamson House sits, where Malibu Creek meets the Pacific Ocean, was once home to the Chumash Indians, who thrived there until the late 18th century. Later, the Rindge family owned 17,000 acres and 20 miles of coastline and constructed a beach house, now the historic Adamson House museum, there. The Spanish Colonial Revival style home is now a National Historic Site, California Historical Landmark, and a California State Park. Built in 1929, it occupies one of the most idyllic oceanfront spots in all of Southern California. Situated near the Malibu Pier between popular Surfrider Beach and the Malibu Lagoon, the house boasts an exotic mix of Spanish and Moorish influences with dazzling displays of decorative tiles and one-of-a-kind craftsmanship including hand-carved doors, hand-painted frescoes, molded ceilings, distinctive cast ironwork and lead-framed bottle glass windows. Weddings, receptions and special events are scheduled from March through November and take place on the beautiful oceanfront property: the sycamore lawn, the front courtyard, and the rear lawn by the star fountain. All events are held outdoors, not inside Adamson House. If you would like to give your guests the opportunity to see the interior tile and house collections, State Parks can coordinate a special tour with our docent program. We offer an "open" house tour during your cocktail hour, with an additional cost of 500 dollars. A permit for this tour can be included in the wedding contract by the state wedding coordinator. We recommend that couples looking to rent this venue visit the park, walk the ocean front property, and take a tour of the house itself. Seeing the historic beach house full of Malibu Potteries tile and hearing the history of the last family to own all of Malibu is remarkable. The grounds are open to the public, seven days a week from 8 am to sunset. There is no parking on-site; however you can park in the LACO Surfrider Beach parking lot in front of the property, or in the Malibu Lagoon Beach lot across the bridge.

  Alpine Ranch, built in the 1980's, was a premier Arabian horse facility, known as Palo Verde, designed as a breeding stable, with 95 stalls, a show barn, 1/4 mile track and formal courtyard. Custom-milled cedar wood and stained-glass windows are still part of the architecture. The 1900's farmhouse, with original stone foundation, was originally the homestead for the largest ranch in what was known as Sonoma Counties' Alpine Valley. Today, Alpine Ranch is a working equestrian barn and vineyard; the Arabian show barn has been converted to an event space and the original farmhouse is a guest cottage. The large equestrian estate is available for a small number of events a year. The property is nestled in the Mayacamas mountain range between Calistoga, St. Helena and Santa Rosa. Your special event can be held in one of their cedar barns, the 13,000 square foot large open courtyard at the center of the equestrian complex, or in what was once the show barn for Arabian horses.
