Our facility can accommodate a wide range of private events such as weddings, business events, birthday and bridal showers, bar/bat mitzvahs, conferences, and more. To avoid having to wash dishes at night for her large family or having to eat hamburger helper (her brother's favorite dish to cook), Linda traded dish duties with her siblings for cooking duties, and developed an intense passion for planning menus, creating recipes, and putting on dinners and events for her family of 15 children. Linda is the mother of 15 children. In her adolescence, she could frequently be found in bookshops reading cookbooks, and she had a cherished memory of reading "The French Laundry Cookbook" for the first time from cover to cover when it was originally published. She made the decision to attend a cooking school shortly after, having no idea that it would turn out to be a career choice. Having been born and reared in Argentina to an American father and a French mother, she comes from a diverse background of cultures and experiences, which contributes to the diverse range of flavors she enjoys putting into her dishes. She moved to the Bay Area when she was 17 years old in order to attend culinary school in San Francisco. After stays in New York and Kansas City, she returned to the Bay Area and began performing at some of the city's most prestigious restaurants, including Masa's, Campton Place, The French Laundry, and Michael Mina's, among others.

The USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum is a National and State Historic Landmark anchored in Alameda, California, just 20 minutes from San Francisco. Moored on San Francisco Bay with sweeping views of the city skyline and the Bay Bridge, the historic aircraft carrier USS Hornet — a veteran of World War II, the Vietnam War, and NASA's Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 recovery missions — serves as one of Northern California's most distinctive event venues. Complimentary parking for more than 500 vehicles is located directly across from the pier. Seven distinct event spaces aboard the ship accommodate gatherings from 16 to 3,000 guests, ranging from the 90,000-square-foot Flight Deck for large-scale picnics and concerts to the intimate Captain's Conference Room where ship captains and presidents once convened. The 44,500-square-foot Hangar Deck (Hangar Bays 1, 2, and 3) supports multiple stages, large seated dinners, trade shows, and conventions, while Hangar Bay 3 alone seats up to 650 for formal dinners and presentations. Events aboard the Hornet can be enhanced with ship tours, a state-of-the-art flight simulator on the Hangar Deck that seats up to 15, docent-led tours of historic locations including the Engine Room and Combat Information Center, fireworks displays, and scavenger hunts. Mills College, located in the foothills of Oakland, California, on the east bank of the San Francisco Bay, provides a stunning setting for weddings and wedding receptions, as well as community activities and conferences. The Mills College Chapel provides a serene and unique venue in which to commemorate life's milestones. The Chapel is made of warm cedar and rough-brushed aggregate, with leaf-dappled sunshine streaming in through glass doors that open onto outdoor patios, bringing it to life. A sculptural backdrop is provided by a stunning brushed stainless steel pipe organ. The Chapel is a spherical structure designed by Callister and Payne and completed in 1967. The emphasis is drawn to a center slightly raised altar by four curving redwood pews. Behind the gorgeous pipe organ is a little choir loft. Reinhardt Alumnae House, located in a tree grove in a quiet portion of the Mills College campus, can be rented for wedding receptions, meetings, birthday celebrations, and other special occasions. The Basque Country is a mountainous region that spans the border between France and Spain and is home to a culture that dates back hundreds of years and a cuisine that has been passed down through generations. Even Patricia Wells referred to it as "one of the few locations in France that possesses spice" when she wrote about it. Piperade, which was opened in downtown San Francisco in 2002 by Chef Gerald Hirigoyen and his wife Cameron, is responsible for bringing these traditional flavors to the area. The proprietors of the establishment call the cuisine served there "West Coast Basque Cuisine," and they say it bridges the gap between French, Spanish, and Basque culinary traditions by emphasizing the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients in each of those cuisines. The San Francisco Italian Athletic Club (SFIAC), which was founded in 1917, is the beating heart of San Francisco's Italian population. The Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco (CCC) is a nonprofit arts and cultural organization founded in 1965, occupying 20,000 square feet on the third floor of the Hilton Hotel at the junction of the Financial District and historic Chinatown. 888 BANQUET & EVENT SPACE: China Live is an interactive culinary and cultural destination located at the entrance to San Francisco's Chinatown, offering a comprehensive look into Greater Chinese cuisine. Our goal is to demystify Chinese ingredients and cuisine while also educating guests about the country's rich history and cultural heritage. China Live can accommodate small gatherings of 10 individuals to large reception-style events with up to 825 people and many sensory experiences. MARKET RESTAURANT: Our first-floor restaurant offers a seasonal menu that changes daily and is prepared at eight specialized stations that combine traditional Chinese and Western culinary technology. A major dining space serves as the focal point, with handcrafted seats and tables made from reclaimed Chinese elm in China. These exhibition kitchens, which have plenty of bar seating, allow you to get a closer look at the skilled chefs at work. The wok station combines European and Chinese flair, with a state-of-the-art Hestan range on one side and an extensive custom-designed wok line by Joe Yick, a third-generation family business in San Francisco, on the other. The charcuterie station features a deep wood-fired oven, similar to a pizza oven in concept, but serving classic roast duck and chicken instead. DESIGN: A Chinese clay oven, similar to an Indian tandoor, is a three-foot tall receptacle resembling an enormous vase that sustains low heat over charcoal fire for an extended period of time, suitable for low and slow roasting pork. Dumplings, in particular, scream Chinese cuisine. This station, which serves as the restaurant's focal point, is equipped with enormous cast iron pans for cooking pot stickers and a variety of steamed and pan-fried dumplings.
