The Ederer Building, which has a rich history, is where you'll find Metropolist. It's located on 1st Avenue South. The Ederer Crane building was constructed in 1919 and was utilized to manufacture large-scale cranes for use in various construction projects throughout the area. You will find that one of the cranes has been left in our space, which gives events and parties a distinctly industrial and metropolitan atmosphere. We provide you with a variety of room options so that you can make your event stand out from the rest, whether you prefer an open floor plan or a multidimensional space to which you can bring your own vision. The venues at Metropolist allow for complete personalization, which makes it an excellent choice as the location for a wedding, party, or corporate event in the Seattle area. The dramatic effect of an urban industrial warehouse that has walls that are 14 feet high and vaulted ceilings that are 25 feet high, windows that reach from floor to ceiling, exposed piping overhead, and warm and bright wood floors can be evoked by using Metropolist. Her inaugural journey, as a member of the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet, took place on June 11, 1922, and she arrived in Seattle on June 14, 1922. The Mosquito Fleet was the world's first regional ferry system, linking coastal communities around South Puget Sound in the early twentieth century. It was through steamship that people were carried between the burgeoning port cities of Seattle and Tacoma, as well as produce and cattle from farms on Vashon Island. In the years 1922 to 1938, the VIRGINIA V served as the principal line between Seattle and Tacoma, operating via the West Pass (also known as "Colvos Passage"), which ran between Vashon Island and the Kitsap Peninsula. The S.S. VIRGINIA V is the final operating example of a steamer from the Puget Sound Mosquito Fleet, and it is still in service today. Bateau, french for “boat,” is both a nod to our first restaurant, Boat Street Café, as well as an attempt to reimagine the American steak house around quality, sustainability and animal welfare. With the name About Bateau, which comes from the French word for "boat," we're paying homage to our first restaurant, Boat Street Café, while also attempting to reimagine the American steakhouse in the context of quality, sustainability, and animal welfare. Traditional cattle breeds, renowned for their flavor, are the centerpiece of Bateau's whole animal menu. These cattle breeds are selected and owned by Bateau and cared for by Pure Country, a Food Alliance certified ranch located in Moses Lake, Washington. All of our cows are raised in a humane manner, fed only grass, and, most importantly, finished only on pasture. Bateau's beef is dry aged for a minimum of 21 days before being butchered on site by Scott Johnson, the butcher for the restaurant. This is certainly not the quickest, easiest, or most cost-effective method of preparing beef, but we believe it is the most effective. Along with Chef Taylor Thornhill's inventive dishes, which frequently include foraged and fermented ingredients, specialty cuts are sold by the pound or by the quantity of meat available. In addition to steakhouse classics done right, such as twice-fried frites and buttery mashed potatoes, the menu includes iconic cocktails and an extensive bottle list. The service is warm and welcoming while also being refined. Many of the fixtures and furniture pieces from Boat Street Café have been repurposed in the dining room as a nod to the former location. The Burien Community Center sits in central Burien, adjacent to Dottie Harper Park and within a block of the Community Center Annex Park. Onsite staff are available to help plan events, and the location offers ample parking for larger gatherings. The center's multipurpose spaces host events for 40 to 200 guests. The Seahurst Banquet Hall is a bright, 2,900-square-foot room with laminate wood floors and large windows, outfitted with round and banquet tables, a wall of mirrors, WiFi, and a warming kitchenette, suited to receptions, banquets, and other large-scale celebrations. Four smaller meeting rooms, each roughly 1,200 square feet, accommodate up to 60 guests apiece for meetings, trainings, baby showers, and small parties. Beer, wine, and champagne service is permitted in both the banquet hall and the meeting rooms with advance notice.

INFORMATION ABOUT US L'Oursin is a French restaurant and bar in Seattle's Capitol Hill/Central District that also has a small food and wine market. Dinner is served from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Our market is open from 3:30pm to 9:00pm on Tuesdays through Sundays. In the market, you'll find a carefully curated assortment of fine cheeses, meats, and other speciality goods, as well as a large selection of natural wines, also known as vins naturels in French. Please keep in mind that proof of double vaccination (a card or a photo would suffice) and matching identification are required in order to dine with us. Anyone who is not seated at a table is still obligated to wear a mask. Our corkage price for outside wine is $30 per bottle ($45 for magnums), with a two-bottle restriction per table for each bottle brought in. Our market offers a variety of delectable things to take home with you; however, we do not offer our supper menu to-go.
