Sonora Opera Hall & Convention Center occupies a landmark historic building at 250 S. Washington Street in the heart of downtown Sonora, California. The hall traces its origins to 1879, when it was built as a flour mill with funds from the Bonanza Gold Mine. Restored to its original purpose as a performance and gathering space, it has become the centerpiece of downtown Sonora, hosting events every weekend of the year. The main hall features a 52-by-31-foot hardwood floor, elegant burgundy velvet draperies, large windows, a full stage with dimmable lights, and a prep kitchen. The space accommodates up to 250 guests banquet-style and up to 410 in theater configuration, making it suitable for weddings, concerts, business expos, art shows, fundraisers, and community gatherings. Rental includes 25 eight-foot tables, 5 six-foot tables, and 200 padded chairs. A handicapped lift provides accessible entry. The hall is managed by the Sonora Chamber of Commerce.
