The Mezzanine Level The semi-private Mezzanine, which is located on the upper level and overlooks the Main Dining Room below, features exposed brick walls and large arched windows in a loft-like setting. The Wine Library, which is located on the lower level of the restaurant, is the ideal setting for groups of 10 to 70 people. Hashiri San Francisco is a Japanese fine-dining restaurant located at 4 Mint Plaza in San Francisco's Mint Plaza neighborhood. The restaurant merges two historical Japanese culinary traditions — Kappo and Edomae Sushi — in an intimate counter-seated setting that fosters close interaction between chefs and guests. The dining room features imported Japanese Cypress counters, contemporary artwork, and 16 ceiling projectors displaying seasonal imagery, creating an immersive atmosphere that blends traditional Japanese cultural influences with Bay Area sensibility. The restaurant's name reflects its culinary philosophy: "hashiri" refers to the start of the season for ingredients, directly connected to "shun," the peak of seasonal quality. Seasonal tasting menus guide guests through a course-by-course experience centered on hyper-seasonal ingredients sourced directly from Tokyo's Toyosu fish market. The Flood Mansion is a symphony of classical styles, including elements from the Italian Renaissance, Rococo, Tudor, and Georgian periods. Since Mrs. Flood bequeathed her home to the Religious of the Sacred Heart in 1939, this exquisite building, built in 1915, has been well conserved. Despite the fact that the facility is now a private school, it is nevertheless open for special events after school hours and on weekends.
