The San José City Hall can accommodate a wide range of activities, meetings, and special events. Discover our facility by activity type or location. Non-religious legal marriage ceremonies performed by a government official or registrar are known as civil wedding services. Wedding ceremonies are not presided over by officiants or registrars in the city of San José. Couples can either bring their own officiant or plan a time with the County of Santa Clara to have a designated officiant offered to them for their wedding ceremony at City Hall. The Rotunda at City Hall in San José can be used for wedding ceremonies and/or parties. The building is a modern architectural marvel, standing 110 feet tall and featuring terrazzo flooring and glass walls that let in plenty of natural light. The structure is like a blank canvas, ready to be painted with any wedding theme. San José City Hall is a contemporary design with light-filled chambers and broad expanses of metal, stone, and glass that serve as a modern backdrop to the great outdoor plazas. The San Jose Woman's Club occupies a 1929 California Mission Revival landmark in downtown San Jose, designed by the Wolfe & Higgins architectural firm and listed as Landmark #32 on the City of San Jose Historic Register. The building's tiled features, crafted by ceramicist Albert Solon, and its original 3,000-square-foot ballroom floor reflect nearly a century of careful preservation. The venue accommodates up to 200 guests across a selection of rooms that clients choose and combine to suit their event — whether a ceremony, reception, buffet, or multi-room celebration. The ballroom includes a stage with opening and closing curtains and supports a full range of seating and setup configurations. Clients coordinate their own caterer, giving each event flexibility in food and budget. Dunsmuir Hellman Historic Estate occupies 50 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in a crescent-shaped valley near the southeastern edge of Oakland, California. At its heart stands a 37-room Neoclassical Revival mansion built in 1899, surrounded by sprawling lawns, duck-filled ponds, and gardens whose design was informed by John McLaren, the landscape architect best known for shaping San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The estate is owned and operated by the City of Oakland's Parks, Recreation & Youth Development department and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Four distinct outdoor and indoor event spaces accommodate gatherings ranging from intimate ceremonies of 50 guests on the Mansion Veranda to receptions and corporate events of up to 200 guests in the Garden Pavilion. The estate is available for weddings, receptions, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, corporate retreats, seminars, and family reunions. Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose occupies a striking purple building designed by Mexico City-based architect Ricardo Legorreta at 180 Woz Way in downtown San Jose. The 52,000-square-foot structure houses 28,000 square feet of gallery space featuring more than 150 interactive exhibits spanning science, art, nature, and culture, alongside Bill's Backyard — a half-acre outdoor nature play area that opened in 2017 with climbing structures and dig areas. The museum transforms into a private event venue in the evenings, accommodating gatherings from 50 guests to celebrations of up to 500. Cresta Blanca Ballroom The Cresta Blanca Ballroom is an excellent choice for any type of gathering. Guests from all over the world can gather to celebrate your big day in the heart of Livermore Valley Wine Country. Our ballroom is bright and spacious, with neutral tones and plenty of natural light. From the moment you walk in the door to see our venue until the moment you share your last dance of the night, our skilled crew is here to make sure your event is joyful, beautiful, and breathtaking. A built-in dance floor, stage, catering kitchen, tables, and chairs are all available in our ballroom. We do not have a list of favored vendors. Our ballroom may be partitioned, giving renters two options: Cresta Blanca North or Cresta Blanca South, for parties that require a smaller location. Facility Event Rental Process Applications are accepted eighteen (18) months in advance of the requested date, on a first-come, first-served basis; preferred dates, times, and facility location vary. Applicants must submit a completed and signed Facility Rental Application, as well as a refundable deposit, to book and reserve the day. The remaining rental fees must be paid sixty (60) days prior to the event date. If applicants want to rent with the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, they must understand and obey the Facility Rental Rules and Regulations. A facility, date, or requested times are not guaranteed or secured by submitting an application.
