Albi is the chef/owner Michael Rafidi's first solo restaurant venture in New York City. Esquire and Robb Report Magazines named Chef Rafidi as the Best New Restaurant in 2020, drawing inspiration from his family's Palestinian roots and bringing to the table an experience that melds the ancient tradition of the region's coal-fired cuisine with local, seasonal ingredients and a refined culinary acumen. With the help of Wine Director William Simons, the restaurant offers an eclectic, international wine program that is anchored by offerings from countries throughout the eastern Mediterranean, including Palestine, Lebanon, and Turkey. The wine list, which is constantly evolving, includes categories such as Savory Whites and Smoky Reds - all of which have been selected to complement Chef Rafidi's menus. Albi, a restaurant in Washington, D.C.'s Navy Yard neighborhood, is owned and operated by Michael Rafidi, who is also the chef. A creative update to traditional Arabic cuisine, using Modern techniques and the best ingredients the Mid-Atlantic has to offer, the menus are offered at the restaurant. His Palestinian ancestors and his grandmother's cooking served as inspiration for this piece. Rafidi spent a countless number of years cooking everything but Arabic food all over the country until he decided to open Albi in 2017. Rafidi was named Eater DC's Chef of the Year in 2017 and was a finalist for the RAMMY Award for Rising Star Chef at the 2018 RAMMY Awards, which were presented by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington. Rafidi spent six years working alongside Michael Mina as executive chef of the acclaimed French restaurant RN74 in San Francisco, as well as the Mina Group's corporate chef, before making his mark on the District's restaurant scene. He assisted the culinary management of the group's multinational properties and was instrumental in the opening of eight of those concepts in his capacity as a consultant. Rafidi grew up in Maryland and has worked at a number of well-regarded East Coast establishments, including the Blue Duck Tavern in Washington, D.C., and Talula's Garden in Philadelphia. His stage time at chef René Redzepi's internationally acclaimed Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark, helped to develop his appreciation for foraging and other culinary techniques from around the world, which he later applied to his own cooking.

Prevailing Winds Lodge is a custom-built full log lodge on 62 acres of rolling hills, open prairies, and hardwood forest in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, just outside Madison. Built in 1996 as a bed and breakfast, the lodge features hand-peeled logs, full chinking between every log, a local barn wood mantle, and a handcrafted moose and elk antler chandelier, giving the interior the character of a back-country retreat. Blind Tiger Portland occupies an 1823 Federal-style mansion in Portland's West End — a building with a history as layered as the city itself. Built by Joseph Holt Ingraham and expanded over the following decades, the property served as a private school, a rectory, and, during Prohibition, an illicit gathering spot that locals quietly called "Social Corners." A thorough 2020 renovation preserved original architectural details — the rooftop cupola, the ornate fireplaces, the basement billiards room — while reimagining the mansion as a boutique inn and social gathering space. For private events, the property offers a collection of named gathering rooms accommodating groups from 10 to 35 guests. The Barroom, the Dining Room, the Living Room, the Sun Porch, and the Billiards Room can each be reserved individually; the Living Room and Dining Room can be combined for larger parties. The food at Nari, a modern Thai restaurant, is inspired by the cuisine of Thailand's past yet prepared with an eye toward the present. The term "woman" in Thai has its origins in Sanskrit, which is where our name, "Nari," comes from. A personal love letter to the women in her life who taught her how to cook and, more importantly, how to eat, Nari is our chef and owner Pim's tribute to generations of Thai women who laid the foundation for Thai cuisine. The House is now owned by the Keyes Foundation, which was established by late resident Frances Parkinson Keyes, to ensure the preservation of the house and garden which she restored. The Ostreum is a Roman amphitheatre built in the first century AD. Weddings and special events are now being hosted at the venue, which opened its doors in June. Located in Fort Worth, Texas, The Ostreum is the second venue owned and operated by Lynsie Blau. It is the sister (not the twin) of BRIK Venue. Ostreum is the latin word for oyster, and it also the name of the city in which it is situated. Named for the luxury associated with oysters and the notion that beauty is housed under an inconspicuous facade, the name is appropriate for the establishment. It is also necessary to consider the speakeasy notion. Previous to that, it served as the warehouse component of the O.B. Macaroni Factory, which was founded in the early 1900s. As well as the exposed brick walls, the venue still retains its original red wood columns and rafters. This area has been refurbished in a romantic, art deco design, which is carried throughout. Tasteful. Stylish and unique, these are the words that come to mind. The Ostreum is meant to give you the flexibility to plan your day exactly how you want it to be. Traditional red wood columns and ivory painted old cinder block walls grace the main chamber of our vast establishment. In order to facilitate the flow of your event, deep plum, sumptuous drapes can be used to divide the room into two or three different spaces.
