In the heart of Frederick, Maryland, Dulanys Overlook is a working crop farm with 170 acres of land. In addition, it is a short drive away from the Baltimore, Washington, and Virginia metropolitan areas. The property is perched high on a hill with expansive views of the surrounding countryside. The wedding party and family will be staying in a historic brick house on the day of the wedding, which includes a beautiful brides room as well as a game room/man cave. On the day of the wedding, the couple will have exclusive use of the entire property for 12 hours. The farm has a historic barn that has been restored and is equipped with modern restrooms and catering space for individual events. It has the capacity to accommodate up to 200 guests while still providing enough space for dancing. It is possible to bring in your own vendors if you have a favorite caterer that you'd like to use, as we have a list of vendors that we recommend for all of the services you will need for your wedding. The wedding coordinator assigned to each of our couples will be with them from the time they book their wedding with us until the day of their ceremony. Hosting an event here at The Stables of Rolling Ridge is a fantastic way to get to know the farm and its surroundings! Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, birthday parties, corporate retreats, and social gatherings can all be held in the luxury of the countryside at one of the outdoor event sites! Reservations for the farm are accepted from April through November on Sundays through Fridays. The tented reception venue is available for events with a maximum of 60 participants. The price of the reservation includes a tented event venue as well as furnishings for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. Beautiful handcrafted wooden ceremonial benches and farm tables are among the furniture options. Prepare for a smaller celebration such as an intimate wedding, elopement, baby shower or birthday with a smaller guest list. Up to 25 guests can be accommodated in the floral shop above the barn, or a workshop-style celebration with Rolling Ridge Floral Design is an option. Glenview Mansion is a 1926 Neo-Classical Revival estate listed on the National Register of Historic Places, set within Rockville's 153-acre Civic Center Park. Built to entertain, the mansion retains its original character — exotic marble floors, formal boxwood gardens, ornamental fountains, and stone archways — while serving today as a full-service event venue operated by the City of Rockville, Maryland. The mansion's first floor opens into a suite of interconnected social rooms, each with its own character: the marble-floored Conservatory with dazzling lighting, the window-lined Dining Room and Library, and the Living Room with direct access to the Formal Gardens. The History of Rockwood Manor Retreats and Events After leaving Washington, D.C., Carolyn Gangwer Caughey (pronounced "Coy") traveled west along the Old Conduit Road (now MacArthur Boulevard) to her newly purchased estate near Great Falls. Mountains of tall cedars, poplars, and oaks cover rock-studded hillsides that gently slope down to a stream valley. A name for Mrs. Caughey's country estate was suggested to her by the natural elements almost immediately: Rockwood. Carolyn was a well-to-do socialite whose ancestors traced their roots back to the American Revolution. She was also a successful businesswoman who had a passion for architecture and a keen eye for profit in the real estate market. According to Who's Who in the Nation's Capital, she is "active in civic betterment, particularly in relation to better-constructed and better-planned homes," among other things. It also mentions that she was responsible for designing one of the largest apartment buildings in the nation's capital at the time. As a result, many of her close friends were not surprised when she revealed that she had designed and personally supervised the construction of her new home. Visiting auctions and antique dealers in the area on a regular basis assisted her in the furnishing of her country estate. Celebrations This historic manor house, which can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony on the wooded Patio, followed by cocktails on the Veranda and a sit-down dinner in the rustic elegance of Brooke Hall, is the focal point of our property. When the party is over, the Hoover Hall ballroom and festive Sun Porch are transformed into a two-level party space for dessert and dancing. In our six flexible meeting spaces, we can accommodate groups ranging from 12 to 80 people.
