This historic building makes for a great site for a wedding. The staff will help to coordinate all aspects of the wedding from entertainment to food to the ceremony. The barn is open April through November and will make for a memorable and unique day. The maximum rental time of the barn is six hours, which is a reasonable length for a wedding. It is also extremely affordable which makes it a desirable place to host a modest wedding. The seating in the barn is limited to 135 people, but you can provide additional tables and chairs if necessary to accommodate all of your guests.

Hill-Stead Museum is a National Historic Landmark set on 152 acres in Farmington, Connecticut. The Colonial Revival estate was designed in 1901 by Theodate Pope Riddle — one of the first licensed female architects in the United States — in collaboration with the renowned firm McKim, Mead & White. Theodate transformed Hill-Stead into a public museum upon her death in 1946, preserving the house, its Impressionist art collection, and the surrounding landscape exactly as she intended. The estate offers six distinct event spaces suited to a wide range of private celebrations, from intimate indoor gatherings to sweeping lawn events for up to 350 guests. Outdoor venues include the West Lawn and Veranda with panoramic views of the Litchfield Hills, the former grass tennis court enclosed by handcrafted stone walls, and the Beatrix Farrand-designed Sunken Garden in bloom from spring through autumn. The Smith Farm property was originally purchased in 1718 by Matthew Smith. The home was constructed in 1778, the land used as a small family farm until the early 1900s. Over the years, the house was neglected, falling into disrepair. In 1985, Malcolm and Peggy Winkley purchased the property, intent on providing a healthy, country environment for their family of five active, growing children. Whether a family reunion, birthday party, shower, anniversary, corporate event or any other special gathering, we offer the perfect unique historical backdrop. We are known for our meticulous attention to detail in our service and our decor. A sailcloth tent is always available for use. In keeping with our traditional appeal, our modern bathroom trailer covered in barn board suggests an earlier era outhouse.
