On our lovely patio and within the restaurant, Lewis Barbecue offers full service private gatherings. John Lewis, the founder and maestro of BBQ, grew up in El Paso, Texas, and came to Austin at the age of 18 to begin his culinary career. John's parents got him a New Braunfels smoker for his birthday around this time, and he began dabbling in Austin's long-standing backyard BBQ culture. He immediately began to experiment with the design and construction of both his smokers and his meats in order to achieve a better result. After spending time in Denver developing his skills on the competition barbecue circuit, John returned to Austin to assist his buddy Aaron Franklin with the opening of Franklin Barbecue, and then joined with LeAnn Mueller to open the much-loved La Barbecue. John went to the Holy City in March 2015 with his smokers to introduce the Lowcountry to the amazing world of Texas BBQ. Lewis Barbecue, which he and his team established in June 2016, has been acclaimed as one of the greatest in the country by publications such as Southern Living, Conde Nast Traveler, Garden & Gun, and others for its famed brisket, honky tonk music, and laid-back attitude. You're still in luck if you can't make it to the physical location. All of John's smoked meats are shipped across the United States via our online store. Rancho Lewis, John's second design, will open in Charleston in 2022. Rancho Lewis embodies the spirit of West Texas, an area rich in varied cultures, and was inspired by his youth growing up in the Southwest Texas-El Paso region. Lewis Barbecue will open a sister location in Greenville, SC, as well.

Michael Toscano, a co-founder, grew up wanting to be a professional golfer but discovered his passion for cooking while working at a golf club in high school. Michael won a scholarship to attend an American Culinary Federation Apprenticeship held by North Carolina's legendary Pinehurst Resort, rather than pursue a golf career. He relocated to New York City after graduating and worked at Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bakery before landing a job as a sous chef at Mario Batali's Babbo at the age of 21. Michael was named executive chef at Eataly's Manzo, the Italian food mecca's fine-dining restaurant, after four years at the famed restaurant. He opened Perla, a modern Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village, as the Chef/Owner in 2012, and it has garnered numerous honors, including Esquire's Best New Restaurants in America, New York Times Two Stars, and Time Out New York Best Italian Restaurant. Michael eventually took over the kitchens at Jeffrey's Grocery, a seafood restaurant, and Montmartre, a modern French cafe, both of which are part of Happy Cooking Hospitality. Michael has been named a "New York Rising Star" by StarChefs.com, a Zagat 30 Under 30 semifinalist, and a semifinalist in the James Beard "Rising Star Chef" competition. He is also a member of the Williams Sonoma Chefs' Collective. Michael and his wife Caitlin came to Charleston, South Carolina with their two children Julian and Marley in the summer of 2015 to begin the next chapter of their lives. Caitlin Toscano, Farfalle’s other co-founder, grew up in the Pennsylvania mountains and moved to the sandy beaches of Miami when she was 16 years old. She has been a dedicated member of the hotel sector since graduating from Johnson and Wales University with a culinary arts degree, and she has been driven from the start. It was only the beginning when she finished her externship at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, where she met Michael. She and Michael packed their belongings into a minivan and drove to New York City after cooking their way through the resort. Caitlin immediately established herself as a front-of-house operations specialist. She's worked at some of New York City's most prestigious restaurants, including Tom Colicchio's flagship Craft and Thomas Keller's 3 Michelin-starred Per Se. She went on to work as the opening General Manager of Eataly NYC's fine dining restaurant, Manzo, where she swiftly raised the service standards at Mario Batali's 4 New York Times starred Italian restaurant, Del Posto. She took a brief career break at the moment to focus on parenthood, but she is thrilled to be managing at her own restaurant once more.

For a typical Lowcountry occasion, many of our gorgeously designed dining rooms date back to the early 1700s. Original artwork by late Charleston artist John Carroll Doyle adorns our walls, creating the perfect Lowcountry atmosphere in each dining area. In the midst of our restaurant, a 300-year-old enormous Magnolia tree stands tall, surrounded by a turn-of-the-century courtyard that features Charleston's most charming, scenic backdrop. Our distinctive Lowcountry cuisine, which was originally pioneered right beneath our roof, is a perfect match for our 300-year-old address. Serve award-winning delicacies made by our seasoned Chef and presented with nothing but Southern charm to your guests. Whether you're throwing a private party, a rehearsal dinner, a wedding reception, a baby shower, an anniversary, or a birthday celebration, 82 Queen will make sure every detail is taken care of! Trista Hoffman, our Special Events Coordinator, will ensure that your next event is a success. Three restaurateurs developed a vision in 1982 to create a dining experience that was uniquely "Charleston," with a focus on fresh, local cuisine and courteous service. They had the perfect location in the Historic French Quarter, with three buildings and a garden courtyard, but they couldn't come up with a name. With the urgency of launching looming, Harvey Poole, Joe Sliker, and Chef Steve Kish agreed to name the restaurant after the street location. As a result, one of Charleston's oldest and most renowned restaurants was born... Queen number 82! One may imagine that a 39-year-old spectacular original would be lost in the shuffle as Charleston's culinary culture gains international attention and hot young chefs launch trendy new restaurants. Customers seeking an authentic Lowcountry experience continue to fill 82 Queen's 11 dining rooms as it sticks to its original objective of serving fresh local cuisine.

Colonial Lake Park
Charleston, SC, USAFor more than 150 years, Historic Colonial Lake has been a well-liked gathering and recreation area on the peninsula of Charleston. All throughout the day, people jog and stroll around the park. This tidal pond is frequently used by fishermen. The park contains a lot of open green space, a seating wall along Rutledge Avenue, and various benches. One of Charleston's prominent public areas underwent a $5.9 million restoration, which was completed in early June 2016 to great fanfare by the Charleston Parks Conservancy. The Conservancy and the City of Charleston collaborated on the project as a public-private collaboration. Work on the project was started by the Conservancy and its Park Angel volunteers in the gardens surrounding the lake. 20,000 new plants were initially brought to the park by the Conservancy. The Conservancy preserved the love of history in the Lowcountry while introducing a fresh horticultural aesthetic to Colonial Lake. The ultimate objective was to design a garden that changes with the seasons and captures the history and natural beauty of the Lowcountry as well as some of Charleston. Major open space, more trees for shade, improved pathways, and more area for walking and running are some of the park's additional advantages. The number of places for tourists to rest and take in the view of the lake and gardens has increased substantially in the new park, which includes roughly three times as many benches and a seat wall along Rutledge Avenue.
