Farmington Polo Club sits on 80 acres in the heart of Connecticut's Farmington Valley. This historic equestrian estate looks out over manicured polo fields, gardens and Avon Mountain. It's home to the Hunter/Jumper and Polo disciplines, and exhibition polo matches run on summer Saturdays from June through September. The club has indoor and outdoor spaces for events of almost any size. Couples can say "I do" at the garden Gazebo or the Pergola, then walk the stone pathways to their reception. Reception options include the Aqueduct Room, which seats up to 200 guests, and the Clubhouse Dining Room, which seats up to 380. Both have a private patio. Originally built as a single-family residence by the prominent Welles family, the property later served as an inn for shipbuilders working along the Connecticut River. Owners Corrine Crocker — a wedding planner since 1990 — and William Luby purchased the house in 2007 and completed a meticulous renovation between 2009 and 2013, preserving the original framing timbers and handcrafted staircase while rebuilding the interior with modern systems, including a geo-thermal heating and cooling system throughout its 6,000 square feet. The venue balances historic character with modern comfort across its first-floor gathering spaces — a front parlor entrance, an open dining room with capacity for up to 75 seated guests, and The Village Room for boutique celebrations — as well as a second-floor bridal suite. A riverfront ceremony location on the property accommodates outdoor ceremonies, with optional horse-drawn carriage access.
