  Deerfield Inn has welcomed guests since July 1884, making it one of New England's enduring historic country inns. It sits on Old Main Street in Deerfield, Massachusetts — a village recognized as a National Historic Landmark and surrounded by working farms, period homes, and the pastoral Connecticut River Valley countryside known locally as the Happy Valley. The inn's large white-columned clapboard building retains much of its original character: a robin's egg blue front porch ceiling, the original hayloft door, a cast-iron horse weathercock, and preserved historic flooring. Twenty-four guest rooms are split between the main house and carriage house, and Champney's Restaurant and Tavern anchors the property's dining. For private events, the Terrace Café offers a multi-purpose setting with south-facing windows, French doors to a garden patio, a private bar, and coat check, accommodating up to 70 guests for a reception or 50 for a seated dinner.   UTEC occupies a landmark building in downtown Lowell, Massachusetts — a former Methodist church originally built in 1839 that earned distinction as the oldest LEED Platinum certified building in the world following a comprehensive 2012 renovation. Original architectural features, including a 30-foot cathedral ceiling and a restored domed chamber on the third floor, are paired with a fully updated event infrastructure. Four distinct rental spaces accommodate groups of 5 to 200, from the Main Hall's soaring ceilings and theater lighting to the intimate Board Room with views overlooking downtown. Each space includes full AV systems — projectors, microphones, surround sound, and wall-mounted monitors — and round banquet tables with chairs for up to 200 guests are provided in-house. In-house catering is available through See Beyond Catering, UTEC's culinary social enterprise; outside caterers are also welcome. As a nonprofit, UTEC directs event rental revenue toward programming and employment opportunities for young adults in the Merrimack Valley.   Nestled along the banks of the Nunckatessett River in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, the Nunckatessett Canoe Club was originally built in 1904 as a storage facility for 63 canoes. It offered members a place to keep their canoes while enjoying the scenic beauty of the river and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. In 1915, the club relocated and expanded, adding a second story to accommodate more canoes and a spacious assembly hall for dancing. Unfortunately, just two years later, the new building was destroyed by a fire.   Scott has been a chef for the last 18 years and has worked at various restaurants in New York City that have earned a Michelin star. Some of these places include Jean-Georges flagship restaurant on Columbus circle and Charlie Palmer's Aureole. His most recent position was as executive chef at Sutton Inn, where he was awarded two Michelin recommendations, a four-star rating from the Daily News, and was named one of Manhattan's top 10 American restaurants by OpenTable for five years in a row. In 1971, we constructed the first version of this home on property that belonged to the family... I have been a permanent resident of this area ever since that time. In 1989, we completely refurbished the home and expanded on to it in order to turn it into a seven-room inn that is light, clean, and spacious. The structure has always had an expansive covered wrap-around porch on the east and north sides. This porch, combined with the other common spaces and lawns, provides sufficient room for visitors to enjoy an evening of unhurried activity. As a result of our location at the very western tip of the island, we are privy to some of the most breathtaking scenery, panoramas, beach breezes, and sunsets in all of Martha's Vineyard.
