Lyford House is a registered National Historic Landmark situated on the shores of Richardson Bay at the Richardson Bay Audubon Center and Sanctuary in Tiburon, California. Built in 1876 as part of the Eagle Dairy Ranch owned by Dr. Benjamin Lyford and Hilarita Reed, the ornate Victorian home now serves as an outdoor waterfront event venue set within 10.5 acres of trails, gardens, and protected wildlife habitat. The venue's terrace and meadow host weddings, corporate retreats, meetings, and private celebrations for up to 150 seated guests, with sweeping panoramic views stretching from Belvedere across the San Francisco skyline to Sausalito and Mount Tamalpais. Following a winding path through an ornate iron gate, the first thing that meets you is a profusion of brightly colored, blossoming hedges. A elevated, canopied patio lies just ahead, and going out beyond it is a wonderfully beautiful grass, which is flanked on three sides by mature magnolia and camellia trees, which adds to the tranquility of the setting. A wide brick promenade runs right through the center of the field, and it is embellished with two multitiered fountains, each of which is crowned with dramatic statues of Greek goddesses.
