Your wedding will be more than just a wedding when you celebrate it at The Lake House Guest Cottages of The Berkshires, which offers a one-of-a-kind and cozy setting for your big day against the backdrop of the majestic and natural beauty of Pontoosuc Lake. Your big day will feel more like an experience than just a wedding. We are a venue for weekend events that can provide sleeping accommodations for up to 50 guests and space for up to 100 additional guests during the event itself. Our property has the capacity to host a total of 150 guests when used as an outdoor venue and our event tent, and it can accommodate 60 guests when the event is held entirely inside. Our event tent is completely brand new and features the latest in tent technology. It has lovely sides with large windows that can be sealed off, making it possible to hold celebrations and ceremonies regardless of the weather outside. The tent has some rudimentary lighting and a flooring made of artificial turf installed in it. However, if you rent the space, you can easily add additional lighting and decorations. No matter how you choose to plan your special day at the Lake House, you can rest assured that it will be situated in the heart of the Berkshires, with all of the stunning locations that the region is known for within a half-drive hour's of the property. The Ruins at Sassafras is a former Shaker settlement, now a one-of-a-kind venue that brings together history, nature, and a creative approach to restoration. The transcendent gardens, waterfalls, ruins, and luxury accommodations create an unforgettable place for you to plan your perfect event. Each of our nine sites promises a unique experience for a rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail party, and reception. Our chair factory is the last standing Shaker chair factory in the country. It's a rustic space overlooking meadows, mountains, and forests. On the lower level is a Moroccan Bar with a terrace. Hancock Shaker Village is a living history museum on 750 acres at the base of the Berkshire Mountains in western Massachusetts, offering weddings and private events across a campus of twenty historic buildings. Heirloom vegetable and herb gardens, farm animals, and sweeping mountain views provide a setting unlike a conventional event venue. Event spaces range from the heirloom gardens — available for outdoor ceremonies and photographs — to The Timberframe, which accommodates up to 75 guests, and The Event Tent, which hosts up to 270 guests with views of the surrounding mountains and one of the oldest working farms in New England. The Village sits approximately two and a half hours from Boston and three hours from New York. Staff assist with events from bridal luncheons and rehearsal dinners through the wedding day itself, and the Village provides couples with a curated list of regional vendors including caterers, florists, photographers, videographers, sound rental, and entertainment.
