TAF is a Seattle-based charity that is reinventing K-12 public education for all students and teachers in Washington State, particularly those who identify as people of color and come from traditionally underprivileged regions. The existing public education system was not created with everyone's success in mind, and it simply does not work. To promote learning opportunities and academic accomplishment for underserved kids, we collaborate with public school systems, colleges, community, and corporate partners. Similarly, we provide professional development and a network of support to aspiring teachers and education leaders of color in public schools. Our 360-degree approach to public education provides an opportunity to reverse systematic injustice and make education a place where everyone wins by focusing on equity and using STEM as a tool for social change. Equity is woven into our programs, organization, and style of working, not merely as a foundation of our work. While our programs may change over time to have a better impact, our primary objective of improving public education for students of color remains at the heart of everything we do.

Bateau, french for “boat,” is both a nod to our first restaurant, Boat Street Café, as well as an attempt to reimagine the American steak house around quality, sustainability and animal welfare. With the name About Bateau, which comes from the French word for "boat," we're paying homage to our first restaurant, Boat Street Café, while also attempting to reimagine the American steakhouse in the context of quality, sustainability, and animal welfare. Traditional cattle breeds, renowned for their flavor, are the centerpiece of Bateau's whole animal menu. These cattle breeds are selected and owned by Bateau and cared for by Pure Country, a Food Alliance certified ranch located in Moses Lake, Washington. All of our cows are raised in a humane manner, fed only grass, and, most importantly, finished only on pasture. Bateau's beef is dry aged for a minimum of 21 days before being butchered on site by Scott Johnson, the butcher for the restaurant. This is certainly not the quickest, easiest, or most cost-effective method of preparing beef, but we believe it is the most effective. Along with Chef Taylor Thornhill's inventive dishes, which frequently include foraged and fermented ingredients, specialty cuts are sold by the pound or by the quantity of meat available. In addition to steakhouse classics done right, such as twice-fried frites and buttery mashed potatoes, the menu includes iconic cocktails and an extensive bottle list. The service is warm and welcoming while also being refined. Many of the fixtures and furniture pieces from Boat Street Café have been repurposed in the dining room as a nod to the former location. Bring your vision to life in My Little White House, an ideal setting for styled shoots, portrait photography, and other intimate events in addition to other possibilities. My Little White House is a 170 square foot boutique up-cycled studio that is located in a private garden in the West Seattle neighborhood of West Seattle. It was built primarily out of salvaged materials and vintage finds. The Little White House is a little studio that I built out of reclaimed materials and things that I found in dumpsters. It is 170 square feet in size. I didn't even consider constructing a white house or a small house when I came up with the idea. Simply put, I desired a location where I could build a fire during the colder months... Initially, it was only 10 feet by 10 feet, but over time, it expanded, the ceilings got higher, and it evolved into what it is today... People are drawn to the White House, in my opinion, due to the fact that a lot of its furnishings were salvaged from dumpsters or were things that previous owners had thrown away because they no longer wanted them. I believe that the Little White House breathes new life into all of those things in some sense... At the very least, that is what compelled me to construct it. It was the concept of turning things that were thrown away into something attractive and intriguing by giving them a second life in the form of something else entirely.

The Seattle Tennis Club can be found in the quaint neighborhood of Madison Park. The Ederer Crane building was constructed in 1919 and was utilized to manufacture large-scale cranes for use in various construction projects throughout the area. You will find that one of the cranes has been left in our space, which gives events and parties a distinctly industrial and metropolitan atmosphere. We provide you with a variety of room options so that you can make your event stand out from the rest, whether you prefer an open floor plan or a multidimensional space to which you can bring your own vision. The venues at Metropolist allow for complete personalization, which makes it an excellent choice as the location for a wedding, party, or corporate event in the Seattle area.
