    The Lafayette Ballrooms occupy the main floor of the historic Hotel Lafayette at 391 Washington Street in downtown Buffalo, New York — a French Renaissance landmark built in the early 1900s and recently restored to its original grandeur. Classic Events operates five ballrooms and banquet rooms on the property, each preserving the period architecture: ornate moldings, marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and soaring twenty-five-foot ceilings. The Marquis Ballroom, the largest of the spaces, seats up to 320 guests for formal dinners or accommodates 450 for cocktail receptions, anchored by a theatrical stage and elaborate moldings and finials.     Tifft Nature Preserve is a 264-acre urban nature sanctuary on Buffalo's Outer Harbor, just a five-minute drive from downtown. The preserve encompasses ponds, cattail marshes, and woodlands connected by five miles of trails and boardwalks, and has been recognized by the National Audubon Society as an Important Bird Area. Originally farmland that later served as an industrial transshipment site and city dumpsite, the land was saved from landfill designation through community advocacy in the 1970s; ecological restoration followed, and since 1982 the preserve has operated as a department of the Buffalo Museum of Science. The preserve's newly renovated Herb & Jane Darling Environmental Education Center accommodates private events for up to 150 guests.
