Worsell Manor is a historic estate in Warwick, Maryland, built on land first surveyed in 1683 for Major Peter Sayer near the Bohemia River. The property — recognized by architectural historians as one of the finest remaining early Georgian houses in Cecil County — spans 50 acres of manicured grounds and gardens in the mid-Atlantic region, easily reachable from Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington D.C. The main reception space is a high-ceilinged barn positioned beside a wooded glen and the Manor fountain garden, accommodating up to 200 guests. The 1683 Manor House itself offers a brick-floored sun porch overlooking the grounds, multiple fireplaces, tall windows, and a state-of-the-art kitchen and bar room. Four bedrooms on the second floor and two on the third floor make the Manor available for bridal party accommodations and extended-weekend stays. Halvorson's Upstreet Cafe has been owned and operated by the Halvorson family for over 40 years on the top block of Burlington, Vermont's Church Street Marketplace. Behind the cafe, just off Church Street, Halvorson's operates a private event space open year-round. The Golden Pheasant Inn is a historic riverside inn and restaurant in Erwinna, Pennsylvania, set along the Delaware River and the old canal towpath in Bucks County. The property traces back to 1811, when Waterman's Inn was built to serve farmers hauling grain along the river road; the current main building dates to 1856, rebuilt after fire destroyed the original tavern, and the inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Jack Thompson's family purchased the property in 2019 and reopened it in 2020. The inn offers French-inspired cuisine served in a handful of distinct spaces: a fireplace-warmed dining room, a solarium with canal and river views, and a stone canal patio and bistro garden shaded by trees. In 1914, an Indian grave was discovered on the Hewlett estate of John N. Auerbach. Among the findings were skeletal remains, arrow and spear heads, and a large quantity of copper beads known by the Indians as“sewan”.
