Camden County Boathouse at Cooper River is a waterfront event venue set along the banks of the Cooper River in the 346-acre Cooper River Park, spanning Pennsauken and neighboring South Jersey townships. The building pairs rustic character with modern elegance — vaulted ceilings, reclaimed beams, and sculptural metal and crystal chandeliers fill a two-story space with natural light, while a wraparound porch offers sweeping south and west views of the river and the Philadelphia skyline. The Ballroom accommodates up to 200 seated guests and is furnished with tables, black chiavari chairs, handmade farm tables, and two portable bars, along with a built-in dance floor. As the National Maritime Union's headquarters, the nautically themed structure was originally designed by New Orleans modernist architect Albert Ledner in 1968 to serve as the union's headquarters. In the late 1940s, Ledner worked as an apprentice under the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, where he developed his own playful style. This fanciful approach to modernism was long dismissed by design purists, but The Maritime is now considered to be part of a wave of modernist architecture that is being viewed in a completely different light than it was previously. Brookmill Farm is a private estate retreat set on nearly 14 acres of wooded grounds outside Lambertville, New Jersey. The 200-plus-year-old property sits alongside a tranquil brook and features two houses with eight sleeping rooms, a spacious bridal suite with views of the grounds, an oversized lap pool, a fire pit gathering area, a private waterfall, and a covered bridge. The estate specializes in weekend wedding retreats — full-property buyouts where couples and their guests stay on-site from Friday through Sunday. Crossing Vineyards & Winery sits on a 200-year-old estate less than a mile from the spot where George Washington crossed the Delaware River in 1776. Founded by the Carroll family, the winery released its inaugural vintage in 2002 and now spans a 20-acre vineyard in Newtown, Pennsylvania. The property offers several distinct settings for private events. The Vineyard Room is a renovated hay loft with granite tables, while the Garden Room opens onto panoramic vineyard views and connects to an open-air terrace and gardens. The Barrel Room places guests inside the working winery itself, surrounded by oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. For weddings, Vistas at the Vineyard is a tented outdoor space overlooking the vineyard, available May through October for 75 to 175 guests, while an indoor winery space with oak barrel-lined walls and wrought-iron chandeliers hosts weddings of 25 to 75 guests year-round. The NSCDA/PA Headquarters House occupies a Colonial Revival building at 1630 Latimer Street in downtown Philadelphia, designed by the architectural firm Ritter and Shay and completed in 1923 as the home of the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in Pennsylvania. The landscaped garden surrounding the house was designed by Marion Coffin, one of the first female landscape architects in the United States, and remains a four-season setting for outdoor ceremonies. Beyond its role as the Society's headquarters, the house functions as a private event venue, hosting weddings, corporate events, and other private gatherings for up to 120 guests. Smaller downstairs rooms, including the Drawing Room, Dining Room, and Loggia sunporch, suit more intimate gatherings, while the second-floor Ballroom, with its own built-in stage, accommodates the venue's larger receptions and is the only space where dancing is permitted. We discussed the possibility of changing one of our three pillars, "Food," to "Cooking" in a meeting with our graphic designer. The goal was to make a more aesthetically and auditorily unified term, but this proposed adjustment couldn't reflect the core and scope of "Food" Because our concept extends much beyond cooking. "Food" encapsulates the warmth, humor, and love shared with family and friends over a meal. When you take the first mouthful of a new dish or ingredient, you get a flutter of excitement in your stomach. Food is the medium through which we share tales and cultivate new friendships. The richness and flavor that we feel through sensory explosion is due to the farmer who devotes his or her days and nights to tending to crops and cattle. The scientist is the one who comes up with new strategies to keep agricultural practices sustainable and impactful. The mother and father are the ones who work numerous jobs to provide a dinner for their family. To put it another way, "food" is more than just something we eat. So, what exactly is PAGU?
