Built in 1822, the Aldrich House is a National Historic Landmark located on the beautiful and historic East Side of Providence. The house was presented to the Rhode Island Historical Society in 1974 by the heirs of Winthrop W. Aldrich, a former Ambassador to Great Britain, and it also serves as the Rhode Island Historical Society headquarters, hosting RIHS special events and programs by appointment. Robert S. Burroughs hired noted Rhode Island architect John Holden Greene to build the house in 1821; it was completed in 1822, the same year the Rhode Island Historical Society was founded. The Aldrich family later shaped national history from this address: Nelson W. Aldrich rose to the U.S. Senate in 1881 and helped lay the groundwork for the Federal Reserve, his daughter Abby married John D. Rockefeller Jr., and their son, Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, was named after him. During World War II, another daughter, Lucy Aldrich, sheltered Scottish evacuee children at the house.

Old School Farm at Dyberry Wilds is a working farm and forest property along Dyberry Creek in the Upper Pocono Mountains of Honesdale, Pennsylvania. The land's roots as a farmstead reach back to a house built in 1925 by dairy farmers Friend and Carrie Walter, later moved up the hill in 1957 to escape the valley's flood zone; the property was renamed Old School Farm in 2001 and has continued under family stewardship since 2021. Today the farm hosts weddings, family reunions, and small group retreats for up to 130 guests in a relaxed, informal, outdoor setting. Events draw on the property's Amish-built timber frame barn, a dining pavilion with an adjacent party tent, the farmhouse's first floor for the wedding party, and a stage and fire pit for gathering. On Friday evenings from May through October, the farm fires its wood-fired earthen pizza oven for artisan pizza nights using ingredients grown on site.

Furnace Town Historic Site is a restored 19th-century industrial village set on 25 acres along the Nassawango Creek in Snow Hill, Maryland. At its center stands the Nassawango Iron Furnace, which operated from 1828 to 1850 as the engine of a self-contained company town built by the Maryland Iron Company. About 300 people once lived and worked here — miners, blacksmiths, broom makers, coopers, and weavers among them — before the operation closed and the Pocomoke Forest gradually reclaimed the site. Restoration efforts began in the 1960s under the Worcester County Historical Society, and the Furnace Town Foundation was established in 1982 to preserve and interpret the property. Today the site functions as a living history museum and event venue, with historic structures, artisan workshops, and nature trails winding through the surrounding woodland.
