The Trussville Civic Center, operated by the City of Trussville Parks & Recreation Department, is a full-service event facility located at 5381 Trussville Clay Road in Trussville, Alabama. The facility features five distinct event rooms — the Fireside 1, Fireside 2, Fireside 3, Lily 1, and Lily 2 — along with a large Exhibition Hall that accommodates up to 304 banquet guests (768 theater-style) and includes an additional 182 stadium seats in a balcony overlooking the floor. Rooms can be combined into larger configurations, with the full Fireside Suite seating up to 144 banquet guests and the complete facility accommodating events of any scale. The building's exposed brick, high ceilings, century-old wood floors, and hand-hewn beams create a distinctive backdrop for a wide range of events — from intimate gatherings to large celebrations. Three event spaces span the second and third floors, accommodating groups of 25 to 200 seated guests, or up to 400 for standing receptions. The Azalea Room and Magnolia Room share the second floor, suited to smaller affairs and private functions, while the Compass Ballroom on the third floor serves as the venue's signature space for weddings, receptions, and corporate events. Woodrow Hall offers all-inclusive event packages that cover catering, custom cake and treat design, floral arrangements, event coordination, and bartending services. Built in 2004 by owners Alex and Marjorie Jones on a property with historical ties to Theodore Swann — a prominent Birmingham businessman of the 1920s — the stables transitioned from horse boarding to an exclusive events destination serving weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers, and corporate gatherings. The venue's Upper Barn features exposed timber beams, a grand stone fireplace, a built-in bar with an iron chandelier, an indoor balcony, and a stone patio that wraps around one side of the building. Manicured lawns and riding arena grounds extend the usable event space outdoors, with the river setting providing a scenic backdrop for ceremony photos. Iron City is a historic event venue and live music destination located at 513 22nd Street South in Birmingham, Alabama. Originally constructed in 1929 as one of the most modern automotive facilities of its era, the two connected buildings were extensively renovated and reopened as a multi-use event and entertainment complex in Birmingham's Southside neighborhood. The renovation was designed by Williams Blackstock Architects, preserving the building's exposed brick, high wooden beams, and dark-stained hardwood floors. The venue accommodates a wide range of event formats across its two floors, with capacity configurations ranging from 150 seated guests with a dance floor to 1,300 standing for large receptions and performances. A large sunken dance floor anchors the main floor, accompanied by a wrap-around bar, mezzanine seating, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. In-house catering is provided through Iron City Grill. Iron City hosts weddings, corporate events, nonprofit fundraisers, social functions, and large-scale concerts. Rockhurst Farm is a 400-acre working farm and event property in Wilsonville, Alabama, situated in Shelby County off Highway 280 East, about 30 minutes from Interstate 459. Originally acquired in 1992 as a personal retreat by Dr. John and Nona Hurst, the land served as a hobby farm where the family farmed and discovered historic artifacts from a native Creek campground and a Civil War camp on the property. After building the Reception Pavilion in 2012 for their daughters' wedding, the Hursts launched Rockhurst Farm Weddings and Events in 2015. The farm is a registered Treasured Forest property with 80 acres designated for weddings and events. Ceremony and reception spaces include the Rockhurst Chapel — a custom sanctuary with 20 white pews seating 200 or more guests with views of an adjacent pond — the open-air Reception Pavilion, and a manicured field centered on a 150-year-old great oak tree that accommodates tent setups for any size event. Nona Hurst brings expertise as a floral designer and master gardener, and Dr. Hurst is a master beekeeper who has maintained bees on the property for nearly four decades. The barn adjacent to the event spaces provides three restrooms (one ADA-approved), two dressing areas, and a caterer's prep kitchen, with all areas ADA-compliant.
