Cross Creek Plantation is a private club and event venue in Seneca, South Carolina, built around a P.B. Dye-designed golf course that opened in 1990. The property takes its name from three creeks — Perkins, Reedy Fork, and Coneross — that wind through what was once rolling farmland, and its 15,000-square-foot clubhouse now anchors weddings, receptions, and corporate gatherings alongside the club's golf and social life. The clubhouse offers a variety of areas for hosting events, from the upstairs Plantation View Room and its adjoining veranda to the downstairs Bogey Bar and Grill with its own veranda. The Great Room at Historic Savage Mill occupies a section of a working textile mill built in 1820 along the Little Patuxent River in Savage, Maryland. Amos Williams and his brothers founded the mill that year, powering their weaving machines with a 30-foot water wheel until operations ceased in 1947. The entire complex is listed on the National Historic Register, and the grounds include the last standing Bollman Truss semi-suspension bridge in the world — a landmark visible from the venue's expansive outdoor deck. The Great Room itself rises to 25-foot ceilings, with fourteen-foot-high windows and skylights that bring in natural light across the main hall. The space accommodates up to 275 guests for buffet-style events and up to 300 for seated dinners, anchored by a 20-by-40-foot dance floor — among the largest in the area. A tented outdoor deck adjoins the main room and holds up to 180 guests for ceremonies or receptions, with views of the river and the historic bridge. Putting on the Ritz, the exclusive on-site caterer, has managed events at the venue for over 20 years. The Shawnee Farms Estate wedding location is located in the center of Luray, Virginia. With its exquisite exterior, this ancient mansion embodies the charm and refinement of old Virginia. Couples will have the grandeur of nature at their fingertips with 150 acres of lush grass and spectacular views of National Park mountains. Shawnee Farms Estate was built as a huge family mansion in the nineteenth century. The guys had to go off to fight a war during its development. The woman who stayed behind finished the house in 1863. For years, the house was a lovely place where people made memories. Many historic antiquities from the Shawnee tribe, as well as hidden items from the conflict, can be found on the land. The mansion was renovated in 2018 to reclaim its original glory from when it was built. It retains its historic charm while still providing modern conveniences for maximum comfort. A completely equipped kitchen, washrooms, and spacious dining areas are now available in the house. Couples can hold their wedding reception in both indoor and outdoor locations. Many calm and lovely spots on the remote property are available for ceremonies and celebrations. Outside, gazebos and gardens give a beautiful backdrop for exchanging vows. The only national museum dedicated to the recording of African American life, history, and culture is the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Following decades of initiatives to promote and showcase the contributions of African Americans, it was established by an Act of Congress in 2003. Almost 40,000 objects have been acquired by the Museum thus far, and almost 100,000 people have joined as members. The Museum became the 19th museum of the Smithsonian Institution and welcome visitors on September 24, 2016. The Museum building is a visible representation of African American history and culture on the US National Mall. Its setting and design serve as tangible and metaphorical representations of the past, present, and future of the African American experience. Every organization that wants to hold a gathering at the Museum must submit an application for approval to the NMAAHC Office of Special Events. An application may be submitted by the group sponsoring the event or by an event manager working on their behalf.
