St. Louis Union Station Hotel
1820 Market St, St. Louis, MO 63103, USA- Spaces for 600 Guests
Opened on September 1, 1894, St. Louis Union Station was the world's largest and busiest passenger rail terminal, designed by architect Theodore Link in the Romanesque Revival style with a signature 230-foot clock tower. The station served 22 railroads at its peak and expanded in 1904 to welcome millions of visitors to the St. Louis World's Fair. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970, the complex underwent a $150 million restoration — described as the largest adaptive reuse project in the country at the time — before reopening in 1985. Today the property operates as a full-service hotel and event destination in downtown St. Louis. The event facilities encompass more than 100,000 square feet, anchored by The Midway, a 43,000-square-foot hall beneath a steel-trussed glass roof that fills the space with natural light for gatherings ranging from intimate weddings to large-scale trade shows. The Grand Hall, rising 65 feet at its tallest point, features sweeping archways, fresco and gold leaf detailing, mosaics, and art glass windows from the station's original 1894 construction. Ayr Mount Historic Site
376 St Marys Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278, USA- Spaces for 300 Guests
Ayr Mount is a Federal-era brick house set in the North Carolina Piedmont near Hillsborough, built in 1815 for the merchant William Kirkland and his wife, Margaret. Kirkland named the house for his former home in Ayr, Scotland, and commissioned it after establishing himself as one of Hillsborough's leading merchants — a grand brick residence that stood apart in a region of modest wooden dwellings. Once the center of a working farm of more than 500 acres, the property is crossed by a colonial-era road that traces a much older Native American trail. The house showcases the craftsmanship of the early nineteenth century, including the brick masonry of William Collier, the decorative joinery and mantels of Elhannon Nutt, and the stair and wainscoting of John Joyner Briggs. Acquired by Richard H. Jenrette in 1985 and carefully restored to its original paint colors and furnishings, Ayr Mount remains a remarkably intact example of the period and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today the house and grounds are stewarded by the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation, which opens the site for tours, educational programs, and events.

Never Looked Better
130 Blagden Alley NW, Washington, DC 20001, USA- Spaces for 30 Guests
- 1 Restaurant
It's never looked better than it does right now. In recent years, speakeasies have received a great deal of attention, but there is another era of bars in America that sent young people scrambling to find a random door covered in stickers and illuminated by an ominous pink glow, known as The Underground Rave. It was not uncommon in the late twentieth century to arrive at a party by walking down an alley, past a loading dock, and entering the party through the kitchen. There were lots of neon, lots of bright colors, and lots of black lights. Because there was no craft movement at the time, people drank trashy mixed drinks like Cosmos, Long Island Iced Teas, and "the blue one," which were popular at the time. Those were the days, and we at Never Looked Better miss them, but we wanted to bring that feeling into the modern era. Drinks like Dirty Vodka Martinis made with homemade brine and fresh olives that are stuffed with soft blue cheese on a daily basis, a pink Cosmo made with Old Tom gin, fresh berry juice, and freshly squeezed lemon, and of course a silky Espresso Martini made with premium coffee liqueur and custom cold brew are all available. If that's something you're interested in, you can find us at 130 Blagden Alley in the heart of downtown. However, you must first pass through the kitchen to get to the door with the stickers on it and the bright red glow.
