Rhodes on the Pawtuxet is a historic event venue in the Pawtuxet Village section of Cranston, Rhode Island, tracing its roots to 1872, when Thomas H. Rhodes opened a small pavilion there for clambakes and canoe rentals along the Pawtuxet. The current building, designed by architect John O'Malley in the neoclassical revival style, opened in August 1915 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Following a complete renovation in 2020, the venue's grand ballroom showcases more than 10,000 square feet of original hardwood floors beneath 21-foot ceilings, along with second-floor orchestra lofts and a three-tiered stage that once hosted bandleaders including Benny Goodman, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, and Tony Bennett. In the foyer, a mural of Narragansett Bay by artist Hezekiah Dyer hangs above the main bar beneath a restored coffered ceiling, and an 1880 sculpture of Terpsichore, muse of dance, remains on display. Wedding rentals include use of the foyer and ballroom along with a renovated bridal suite, groom's room, and the Canoe Lounge, a VIP space that nods to the property's early canoe-rental days. Built in 1905 for wealthy businessman Samuel Priest, Edgewood Manor Inn is an 18-room Greek Revival mansion in Providence, Rhode Island, acquired in 1994 and restored to its original grandeur. Five ornate fireplaces and leaded, stained-glass windows remain throughout the property, and guestrooms and suites are decorated in Victorian and Empire style, several with gas or wood-burning fireplaces and jacuzzi tubs. The mansion serves as a backdrop for Rhode Island weddings and receptions, as well as anniversary parties, engagement parties, baby showers, and christenings. Couples can reserve the entire first floor for the ceremony, reception, or bridal party preparations, with capacity for up to 75 guests in winter and 150 in summer across the mansion's indoor rooms and outdoor grounds. The small-scale vegetable and flower farm Slip Away Farm is located on Chappaquiddick, a small island separated from Martha's Vineyard by a 527-foot ferry trip. Our mission is to provide our Island community with high-quality, organically cultivated flowers, fruits, and veggies. With the aid of her brother Christian and good friend Collins Heavener, Lily Walter founded Slip Away Farm in 2012. We started the farm on a one-acre lease in Katama, Martha's Vineyard, and delivered vegetables by bicycle to Chappaquiddick homeowners. Slip Away was relocated to the Marshall Farm on Chappy in 2013, a property jointly held by the Martha's Vineyard Land Bank and the Vineyard Trust. We acknowledge and respect the Chappaquiddick Wampanoag tribe's ancestral and contemporary homeland on this property. In Chappy's original one-room schoolhouse, we now run an 85-member vegetable CSA, a 55-member floral CSA, and a self-serve farm market.

Whiting), and it now contains the "new" Agricultural Hall, two animal barns, an outdoor riding ring, and outbuildings. The Agricultural Hall was built on 20+ acres at the intersection of State and Panhandle Roads. Surrounded by open space with old growth trees dispersed throughout and backed on one side by a big hayfield, the location emanates peace and beauty typical of rural settings. A wooden barn formerly located in rural New Hampshire was meticulously demolished board by board, numbered labeled, packed, and packaged before being transported to the island by 42 volunteer 'Barnbusters' in the spring of 1994. In November of that year, hundreds of people from all around the island came together in a confluence of generosity to assist in the raising, sheathing, shingling, and painting of the 'new' Hall. Adding a front hall and verandah in the style and spirit of the 'old' Ag Hall, which is now known as the Grange Hall, on State Road, was a priority. It is possible to rent out the land for a limited number of events such as weddings and funerals, as well as religious, non-profit, educational, and governmental functions, as well as agricultural and allied operations.
