The Arneson River Theatre is an 800-seat outdoor amphitheater on the banks of the San Antonio River, with entrances into La Villita Historic Arts Village. A stage sits across the river where wedding ceremonies are commonly held, and three air-conditioned dressing rooms with backstage restrooms serve performers. The theatre hosts concerts across genres, theatrical performances, and the annual Fiesta Noche del Rio, a summer series featuring Ballet Folklorico. Rentals include use of an on-site concession stand for food, beverage, and merchandise sales. Non-commercial bookings run $250 for the first hour and $50 each additional hour; commercial bookings start at $500 for three hours plus $100 per additional hour, with a $500 damage deposit. The original Houston Heights Fire Station No. 14 is located at Yale and 12th Street, approximately 4 miles north of downtown Houston, and is the last remaining municipal facility from the era when the Heights was a separate municipality. Houston's first public meeting hall, City Hall, fire station, and jail were all constructed in 1914 at a time when horse-drawn fire wagons were still the primary means of transportation. When it became Station Number 14 in 1918, it would remain that way until 1987, when it was permanently decommissioned for the last time. The Houston Heights Association voted in the early millennium to save the building and restore it to its former splendor, and they were successful. After repairing the building and installing vintage carriage-style doors in homage to the horse-drawn carriages of the early twentieth century, when the corral was located directly behind the fire station, The H.H.A. was able to reopen the corral. After being purchased by the Houston Height Association in 1979, the property has since grown to become one of the most popular outdoor wedding venues in the city of Houston. Chef Jacques Fox was born in the North African city of "Sidi-Bel-Abbes" and raised in France by his Polish grandparents. Even before graduating from high school, Chef Jacques Fox demonstrated an early aptitude for cooking. Following high school, Chef Jacques enrolled in a two-year program at the College D'Enseignement Techniques in Tulle, France, to further his culinary education. When Chef Jacques graduated from his training program in 1975, he relocated to Paris, where he accepted his first chef position at Maison Prunier, a world-renowned seafood restaurant. In 1976, he joined Elitair Maxims, where he worked for four years before being promoted to executive chef. After leaving Paris in 1983, Chef Jacques went to work for Club Mediterrainnee (Club Med), where he had the opportunity to further develop his culinary skills and understanding of global cuisine at luxury resorts around the world, including those in Kamarina, Sicily; Noumea, New Caledonia; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Farakulafushi, Maldives; Kos, Greece; Eilat, Israel; Cooper Mountain, United States; and Les Menuires et (Click on the "read more" link above to learn more.) Chateau Bellevue is a Victorian-era mansion in downtown Austin, built in 1874 and expanded in 1892 under owner Major Ira Hobart Evans, a Union Army veteran and the youngest Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. Its stained glass windows and intricate wooden detailing make it one of the last remaining examples of Victorian architecture in the city, and it holds both Texas Historic Landmark (1965) and City of Austin Historic Landmark (1974) status. The venue has been owned and operated by the Austin Woman's Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, since 1929. The mansion offers a sequence of spaces for weddings and private events, from the Grand Entryway Foyer with its stained glass and hand-carved woodwork to the Grand Ballroom, which seats up to 175 guests beneath hardwood flooring and a raised stage for a band or DJ. Outdoors, the brick Ceremony Courtyard seats up to 165 guests facing its magnolia tree, or up to 150 facing the Chateau itself, with an adjoining terrace suited to cocktail hour. Limestone entryways and balconies overlooking the downtown skyline offer additional backdrops for photography. Located 10 miles north of Waco and Baylor University, Deerfield Venue is a historic timber frame outstanding wedding and event location intended to accommodate the C-suite and wedding parties. Spring Lake Road and Deerfield Drive, where the 5000 sq. ft. project is located, are bordered by magnificent rose gardens and are situated in a parklike setting of native Texas trees and foliage, which creates a parklike atmosphere for visitors. In addition to wedding ceremonies and receptions, corporate meetings/events and family reunions, galas, fundraisers, product launches and holiday parties can all be held at Deerfield Venue, which can be changed in a variety of ways.
