    Little Chapel in-the-Woods You are entering a tradition as you go into the Little Chapel in the Woods. The chapel, on the outskirts of Texas Women's University, is a hidden sanctuary that has hosted weddings since September 1939, a few months before Eleanor Roosevelt's dedication. The exquisite internal stain glass windows complement the natural splendor that surrounds the Little Chapel. On saw-pierced and riveted brass lighting, and woodwork completed in beech, hand carved woodwork on the pews, the Little Chapel in-the-Woods' rich symbolism delicately conveys "Woman Ministering to Human Needs." Architect O'Neil Ford designed the Chapel, which is 90 feet long and 24 feet broad. During the Great Depression, it was built as a project of the National Youth Administration and dedicated by former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. The Little Chapel in the Woods is steeped in history, and every piece in the chapel is imbued with the aesthetic fingerprint of young women artists. The stone walls take on a charming blue tint as the sunshine filters through the stained glass windows, and the exterior is surrounded by magnificent green landscapes. Greenhouse & Gardens TWU's Gardens can help you plan the perfect outdoor celebration. For ceremonies, black garden chairs can be placed up on the greenhouse patio or in a garden area of your choice.     The Tremont House is a historic hotel in Galveston's Strand Historic District, tracing its roots to a Galveston institution dating to 1839. The current building, once the Leon & H. Blum Building, was constructed in 1879 and restored by George and Cynthia Mitchell in the early 1980s, reopening in 1985 as the first major hotel to open in downtown Galveston in sixty years. Today the hotel offers nearly 17,000 square feet of flexible event space across eight venues, accommodating gatherings from 8 to 800 guests. The Tremont Ballroom, on the upper level of the historic Davidson building, features 14-foot ceilings and access to a balcony overlooking the Galveston Mardi Gras arch, while the Royal Room offers exposed brick and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on historic downtown. A Brief History of the Rose Chapel and Southside Preservation Hall The former Central Methodist Church, built in 1911 at 1519 Lipscomb St., was formerly the spiritual home of many notable Fort Worth families around the turn of the century. The building has been threatened with demolition multiple times since the congregation relocated in 1969. The Panther Boys Club, a civic organization, purchased the facility in 1972 and transformed the church facilities into a gymnasium, boxing ring, and adolescent dance area. The chapel was not in use at the time. The property was then spared from demolition by the Southside Preservation Association, which was founded in 1996 by a determined group of preservationists. The Association, which is run entirely by volunteers and is a non profit organization, works to repair the facility's buildings and grounds, winning multiple community honors in the process. The magnificent, restored Rose Chapel, named after the Flower of Love, is always booked. The Southside Preservation Hall's adjoining rooms accommodate a diverse range of events, from corporate parties and wedding receptions to dances, classes, and performances that reflect the metroplex's diversity. The proceeds from these activities will go toward the property's continuing restoration and care in order to maintain its legacy.

Our newly renovated venue, which features modern technologies, in-house catering, and 86,400 square feet of total event space, also includes a carpeted 21,600 square foot column free exhibition hall with a professional master stage, as well as high dock and street level move in access, among other amenities. Aside from that, there are 14 distinct break-out rooms located around the building.
