McClimans and Simic, who had previously collaborated on projects, set out to create a true neighborhood restaurant in their hometown. Nina May, named after their daughters' names, is a New American restaurant in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC, that opened in 2012. Local and seasonal ingredients are used in this family-style restaurant, which sources its ingredients from farms within 150 miles of the city. McClimans, who is dedicated to supporting local small businesses and preserving the farms and fisheries of the community, uses only the freshest, most flavorful ingredients from the region to create his distinctive cuisine. With brick-oven pizzas, mouth-watering burgers, and freshly caught fish — no matter what kind of diner you are looking for from casual to adventurous, City Tap House DC guarantees they will satisfy you and your guests' appetite. City Tap House DC prides themselves on using locally sourced ingredients. Their chefs are experts in their craft and, like their favorite brewers, champion innovation, integrity and hard work. Above all, City Tap House DC's goal is to see their food and craft beer enhance your special event and ensure it is one your guests will love. For City Tap House DC, craft is everything. “Craft” is most often defined as doing things by hand. For City Tap House DC, craft is complex, innovative beers. Craft is food that inspires and surprises the palate. Craft is service that delights and exceeds expectations. Most importantly, craft means championing love and integrity in every aspect of what they do. From India Pale to Berliner Weisse, Fruited Wheats to Barrel-Aged Stouts, the world of craft beer is rich with variety and innovation. With so much beer to try, entering this world can feel overwhelming. Throw in jargon like “hoppy-ness,” “cask-conditioned,” and “brettanomyces” — it’s easy to drown in the vocabulary of craft beer alone! But that’s why City Tap House DC is here: to make craft beer accessible to all. In City Tap House DC's kitchen, craft comes first. Like beer slowly fermenting in a tank, their food is prepared with equal parts precision and patience. Lead by Executive Chef, Ian Branning our menu blends personal expertise with regional traditions to make something daring and refreshing.

When the sun goes down, The Dubliner comes to life with Irish entertainers who take the stage every night. We provide the very best in Irish entertainment seven nights a week, with everything from soulful ballads and airs to rousing jigs and reels to choose from. As we've grown, we've established the Phoenix Park Hotel as "America's Center of Irish Hospitality," which was recently renovated. As a Capitol Hill institution, we welcome guests who understand that, in the words of Daniel O'Connell, the great Irish statesman, "the hospitality of an Irishman... springs, like all of his qualities, his faults, and his virtues, directly from the heart." Alternatively, if I am not present, please say hello to my son Gavin or nephew Danny, who are both 3rd generation Publicans and are currently in charge of the establishment. To all of our guests, we extend a heartfelt Cead Mile Failte - a heartfelt welcome. Enjoy your pint, your meal, and the music while you're at it. In addition to fundraising events, The Dubliner has experience hosting rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, retirement parties, birthday parties, and a wide variety of other private parties. It doesn't matter whether you're planning a formal dinner, a cocktail reception, or a small gathering at one of our bars; The Dubliner is the ideal location for your next special occasion. Are you looking for that authentic Irish pub experience? The Main Bar Room at the Dubliner is the perfect place to start. The Main Bar Room, which features over 50 different types of Irish whiskey, Guinness and craft brews on tap, as well as live music every night, is the ideal location for your happy hour, holiday party, or late-night gathering. The President's Bar has truly earned its moniker after serving President Barack Obama his first pint of Guinness on St. Patrick's Day 2012, among other occasions. This space is ideal for smaller receptions of 25 people, but it can also be combined with The Snug or the Parlor to accommodate events of up to 150 people. The Snug provides the most privacy, making it an excellent choice for private lunches, business meetings, rehearsal dinners, or even larger cocktail receptions and receptions. Mosaic tile flooring, a service bar, and a television with presentation capabilities are all included in this newly renovated area. Renovations completed in September 2019 include the construction of a new terrace with a door. This all-seasons patio space is equipped with bi-fold windows that provide an a la fresca experience in the summer months while remaining fully insulated during the cooler months. Providing cold beer and wine, the service station can be transformed into a satellite bar for cocktail receptions and other events.

The National Building Museum, established in 1980 by an act of Congress, has had a transformative impact on the public's awareness of the impact of architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, construction, planning, and design. In our exhibitions, educational programs, and special events, we welcome visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in tales about the built world and how it has the ability to affect the lives of individuals, communities, and our collective future. The Museum is housed in the historic Pension Building, which boasts one of the most awe-inspiring places in the nation's capital: a towering, wide Great Hall with eight gigantic Corinthian columns, which is one of the nation's most important historical landmarks. terra cotta frieze covers the whole building's facade, stretching 1,200 feet in length. It has been the site of some of Washington, D.C.'s most magnificent events since 1885, when the National Building Museum first opened its doors. Take a look at five spectacular, historic rooms that can be reserved for your seated meal, reception, performance, or business conference. Contact the Special Events Department if you would like additional information about event rental options.
