Joe's Pub & The Library at The Public
The Library is one of downtown’s best kept secrets; tucked away on the mezzanine of the Public Theater. The elegant restaurant and bar is named for the Astor Library, in a nod to both the United States’ first public library and the landmarked building that now houses the Public Theater. This supper club acts as watering hole and backstage lounge to downtown characters, neighborhood dwellers, theater-goers, academics and artists alike. You never know what stories will unfold over dinner and cocktails at The Library. Ideal Glass Studios
Ideal Glass Studios is an artist-run film & TV production studio, founded in 2004 by native New Yorker, actor, and artist, Willard Morgan. The original East Village space, was transformed from a 1950’s glazier’s workshop into an independent gallery space and art collective. It was run by a small team of creatives dedicated to fostering a collaborative creative community, and featured rotating mural walls, art exhibitions, film screenings and multidisciplinary performances. In 2017, Morgan opened The Atrium and The Mansion in NYC’s West Village. Here, high-profile film, TV, music, fashion, and art vanguards gather regularly to collaborate. The original space’s DIY vibe lives on in its caring and eccentric team, encouraging creators to present their ideas clearly and express their vision freely. From the moment Chef Daniel Boulud could hold a spoon, he remembers savoring his mother’s potato dish – Le Gratin Dauphinois, a favorite he remains to make on all celebratory occasions. The symbolic and casual restaurant connects Chef Daniel with the traditional bistros and bouchons of his hometown of Lyon, France, known for their welcoming ambiance and soulful cuisine.
