That We Are We were the ones who bought the farm! The name Belle's Pleasure was inspired by my great grandmother's ancient house in Prince Georges County, Maryland (Bealls Pleasure). As a child, I remember being awed by the big brick home with chandeliers, rich rugs, secret staircases, room after room stuffed with treasures, and the aroma of boxwoods that encircled the secret garden in the back. Even before we found this teeny-tiny slice of heaven we now call home, I knew our farm would be called Belle's Pleasure. This property was first shown to us in the fall of 2016. I went to look at the house with our month-old baby in tow. When I saw the cathedral ceilings at the top of the barn's inner staircase, I knew this was the one! A Smidgeon of Heaven Being here at the farm gives me a special feeling, a serene and peaceful atmosphere that penetrates the entire property. Maybe it's the history; knowing that the old farmhouse at the property's center has stood for almost two centuries gives you a sense of confidence. Maybe it's the rustic beauty of the enormous white barn, which was built by farmers in 1920 as a dairy barn. Several generations have lived and worked on this land over the past 250 years, and this small piece of heaven has been a part of their lives. Please come in and take a look around. Cloverdale Barn is a restored historic barn set on a working cattle farm in Winchester, Virginia, about 65 minutes from Northern Virginia. The barn dates back roughly 200 years and was brought back from years of storm and tornado damage through a 10-day restoration by Amish craftsmen, a project the family undertook so their own children could marry there. Today it hosts weddings, birthdays, baptisms, graduations, reunions, and company gatherings. The barn offers a 40-by-80-foot event space with an additional lower "bank" area that serves as a rain-alternative or extra gathering spot, and the property includes a pond and rock area often used for outdoor ceremonies. String and globe lighting are part of the barn rental, along with oak farm tables, a maple round table, and whiskey and wine barrels available at no charge for decor. Couples are free to bring their own caterer, DJ, cake decorator, planner, and other vendors, and acres of on-site field parking accommodate large gatherings. A bridal-changing cottage is available separately, and a two-station restroom trailer can be added for larger events.

Stable Craft Brewing at Hermitage Hill traces its roots to Hermitage Hill Farm and Stables, founded in 2006 as an operational horse farm where Tennessee Walkers were bred and trained on a property built around a 288-foot barn. The founders transformed the farm into an event venue for weddings, receptions, private parties, and corporate gatherings, and played a role in the Virginia legislation that helped establish agritourism in the state, all while preserving the rural landscape of the Shenandoah Valley. The historic barn has since been renovated into a reception venue that blends rustic architecture -- hand-hewn beams and timber crafted with local artisans -- with heating, air conditioning, and a professional sound system. Belle Grove is a National Historic Landmark set in Virginia's northern Shenandoah Valley near Middletown. Its Federal-style limestone Manor House, completed in 1797 for Isaac Hite Jr. and his wife Nelly Madison Hite (sister of President James Madison), reflects design principles associated with Thomas Jefferson and features intricate, hand-carved woodwork. The plantation grew from an original 483 acres to roughly 7,500 acres through the labor of enslaved workers, and during the Civil War the property served as Union General Philip Sheridan's headquarters at the center of the 1864 Battle of Cedar Creek. Today Belle Grove operates as a National Trust for Historic Preservation site and the centerpiece of the Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park, welcoming weddings, corporate gatherings, and private parties across several distinct settings. The Manor House hosts intimate ceremonies and receptions for up to 40 guests, the restored 1918 Beverley B. James Monroe's Highland is the historic Albemarle County home of the fifth U.S. President, set in the Virginia hills near Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's estate. Construction on the property began in 1797, and the main house Monroe and his family occupied was completed in 1799; an 1818 guesthouse still stands today. Now owned and operated by the College of William & Mary, Monroe's alma mater, Highland operates as a museum dedicated to sharing the full history of the site, including the stories of the enslaved men, women, and children who lived and worked there. With more than 30 years of experience hosting private events, Highland offers indoor and outdoor spaces for meetings, conferences, retreats, and family gatherings, including the Event Barn and the Hilltop Pavilion, the latter offering panoramic mountain views.
