JuneBug Retro Resort is a 50-acre vacation and event venue nestled in a private valley 12 minutes north of downtown Asheville, North Carolina, with a half-mile of Flat Creek flowing through the property. Ten restored 1950s vintage campers — each available for overnight stays — give the setting a one-of-a-kind character that has earned the resort features in Southern Living, Country Living, Pioneer Woman, and the Travel Channel. The property offers multiple gathering spaces for weddings and private events. The Walnut Cove Ceremony area is set beneath a canopy of walnut trees alongside Flat Creek and accommodates up to 150 guests, with a 60-by-60 double-peak tension tent, dance floor, wedding arbor, and a 1960 Airstream dry bar with bartending service included in the package. For more intimate occasions, the two-story Treehouse hosts ceremonies and receptions for up to 22 guests high in the canopy of old-growth Red Oak trees, with views of the Pisgah Mountains. The Creek Lounge — an outdoor bar and music venue featuring a vintage 1960 Airstream bar and a customized 1953 Ford flatbed truck stage — offers a distinct open-air setting for events and live music throughout the season. Sherrill's Inn is a registered historic property in Fairview, North Carolina, minutes from Asheville. Built in 1845 on land that John Ashworth first settled around 1801, the inn was enlarged by Bedford Sherrill in 1834 to serve travelers crossing Hickory Nut Gap — a waystation for stagecoach passengers and livestock drovers that drew prominent guests including President Millard Fillmore in 1854 and Mary Ann Morrison, who later became the second wife of Stonewall Jackson. Today the property operates as a private event venue, hosting weddings and special occasions across several distinct outdoor spaces. The Ceremony Field offers a manicured lawn framed by towering trees with a natural stage; the Boxwood Yard is enclosed by meticulously groomed hedges; the expansive Reception Field spans 75 by 225 feet with a bandstand; and the Covered Porch overlooks the grounds. The historic house interior includes preparation rooms and a library available to wedding parties. White Horse Black Mountain is a nonprofit listening room and event venue housed in the historic McMurray Building at 105 Montreat Road in Black Mountain, North Carolina — about 20 minutes east of Asheville. The building, originally constructed in the 1940s as a Chevrolet dealership, was transformed into an intimate performance and events space by founders Kim Hughes and Bob Hinkle, who opened White Horse in November 2008 following a community-wide renovation effort. The main room spans 3,000 square feet with high arched wooden ceilings that deliver exceptional natural acoustics. It seats up to 180 guests and holds approximately 50 more standing, making it well-suited for weddings, rehearsal dinners, reunions, birthday celebrations, corporate retreats, and seminars. The venue includes a state-of-the-art sound system, a high-definition projection system with a 14×17-foot screen, and a full bar featuring local and regional draft beers, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. An outdoor patio with mountain views provides additional gathering space, and free parking is available throughout the adjacent lots and downtown area. Addison Farms Vineyard is a family-owned winery set on 55 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Leicester, North Carolina, about 17 miles northwest of Asheville. The property has been in the family for four generations, since Addison Farmer and his parents purchased it in 1937. The vineyard planted its first acre in 2009 and opened its tasting room in December 2012, following its inaugural estate harvest in 2011. Today the estate grows five grape varieties — Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, and Petit Manseng — at elevations between 2,250 and 2,300 feet, producing 600 to 800 cases each year. Guests gather at a covered outdoor pavilion overlooking the vines, where the vineyard hosts live music, chef and food-truck collaborations, and seasonal wine dinners through its Thursday-through-Sunday season.
