This structure was originally built in 1920 as a temple for the local Masonic lodge. Local architect Herbert M. Greene, who was well-known for his contributions to Dallas and Austin, designed it. Before the chapter moved, the Oak Cliff Masonic Lodge #705 was used as a meeting site for nearly 80 years. It has now been renovated and made into a sophisticated event facility. This building features a total of 10,000 square feet of usable space for weddings, with event rooms spread across two floors. High wainscoting and beautiful, dark hardwood flooring are among the intricate details seen throughout the facility. Above the ballroom, gleaming chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and a big stone hearth serves as the centerpiece. Whether your gathering is small or huge, you can hold your ceremony and celebration here. It can seat up to 300 people for a cocktail function or 200 people for banquet seating. The Mason Dallas only hosts one event each day, ensuring that your wedding receives the personal attention it deserves. A venue manager will be on hand to oversee the day's activities and ensure that everything runs well. HISTORY OF THE VENUE The Brake & Clutch building was constructed in the 1930s and served as the home of Brake & Clutch Service Co. for many years before closing in the 1980s. It stood empty for years, waiting to be converted into the space it is now! The venue, which launched in 2017, is run by a mother and two children who designed it expressly for special gatherings. The towering ceilings, industrial atmosphere, and high-end finish lend themselves to basic and elegant styles, as well as anything in between.
