The McConathy family purchased 500 acres of the Turner Ranch in 2014, forming Oak Plantation Trophy Ranch. Originally, the family intended to construct a luxury hunting lodge where guided whitetail and exotic deer hunts would take place. Their oldest son got engaged in 2015. Long before anything else was erected, he and his bride were married beneath one of the gorgeous oak trees. The delight they felt as they saw their loved ones enjoy such a beautiful day transformed the hunting lodge into an event space. River Rendezview is a wedding location located 60 miles south of Houston in Brazoria, Texas, overlooking the San Bernard River. An 1800s style Paddle Boat, River Grace Chapel, a 400-year-old oak tree, Party Barn, and screened Patio/Deck overlooking the river are just a few of the options available to help make your day special. This location can serve as your one-stop wedding shop; you bring the groom and the gown, and we will take care of the rest. A wedding chapel, restaurant, numerous reception venues, and a Bed & Breakfast are all part of the property. This venue is warm and inviting, with an elegant country feel. This waterfront location boasts a party barn that can accommodate up to 400 people and is great for a shabby chic wedding or country-style event. A big screened-in porch area near to the river also provides for an unforgettable outdoor patio wedding. River Rendezview, Dido's & the Yellowstone is a riverside destination on the San Bernard River in Brazoria, Texas, about 60 miles south of Houston. What began as a simple restaurant in the early 1980s has grown into a multi-part gathering place built around the water — Dido's Restaurant, the historic paddlewheel riverboat known as the Yellowstone, a party barn, the River Grace Chapel, a bed & breakfast, and a marina all share the same riverfront property. Dido's Restaurant, one of the oldest family-run restaurants in Brazoria County, serves classic American fare with a seafood focus — Gulf shrimp, hand-formed burgers, ribeye, chicken fried steak, and crispy catfish among them.
