The building itself is a work of art: a 1987 sister-city gift from Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Boulder, its hand-carved cedar columns, Persian-painted ceilings, and eight exterior ceramic panels depicting the Tree of Life were crafted by more than 40 Tajik artisans working entirely without power tools.
