Andrew Jackson's Hermitage sits on 1,120 acres in Nashville, Tennessee, and has welcomed guests since the mansion first opened to the public in 1889. It is one of the oldest and largest historic site museums in the United States and a National Historic Landmark, maintained to look as it did when Andrew Jackson, the nation's 7th president, remodeled it following a fire in 1837. More than 80 percent of the objects inside the mansion are original to Jackson's lifetime, and interpreters lead visitors through the home and its surrounding grounds, which include the log dwellings where the enslaved community lived and where the Jackson family first settled the property. Hachland Hill is a family-run bed & breakfast, dining inn, and retreat center set on 80 acres of wooded hills in Joelton, just outside Nashville and about 25 minutes from the airport. The property has operated since 1955, and its grounds carry a long history: the land was once home to Cherokee and Chickasaw communities drawn to its spring-fed waters and abundant wildlife, and in the early 1700s it became known as "Paradise Hills" after two French brothers named Paradise settled the area. Crystal springs still run through the property today, alongside sassafras, maple trees, and wild turkeys, deer, and foxes. Even while RAD does not have a private dining room, we do provide the ideal backdrop for any event, from business dinners to social gatherings. Dishes are served family-style to all of our large groups as they are seated at a single, long table along the middle of the dining area. The cost of this family-style supper, which is based on our current menu, is $85 per person. Any dietary requirements or demands can be accommodated on the menu. We also have a minimal requirement for food and drink. The option to completely book out the restaurant for the evening is provided by RAD.
