The Burien Community Center sits in central Burien, adjacent to Dottie Harper Park and within a block of the Community Center Annex Park. Onsite staff are available to help plan events, and the location offers ample parking for larger gatherings. The center's multipurpose spaces host events for 40 to 200 guests. The Seahurst Banquet Hall is a bright, 2,900-square-foot room with laminate wood floors and large windows, outfitted with round and banquet tables, a wall of mirrors, WiFi, and a warming kitchenette, suited to receptions, banquets, and other large-scale celebrations. Four smaller meeting rooms, each roughly 1,200 square feet, accommodate up to 60 guests apiece for meetings, trainings, baby showers, and small parties. Beer, wine, and champagne service is permitted in both the banquet hall and the meeting rooms with advance notice.

The Seattle Tennis Club can be found in the quaint neighborhood of Madison Park. The Ederer Building, which has a rich history, is where you'll find Metropolist. It's located on 1st Avenue South. The Ederer Crane building was constructed in 1919 and was utilized to manufacture large-scale cranes for use in various construction projects throughout the area. You will find that one of the cranes has been left in our space, which gives events and parties a distinctly industrial and metropolitan atmosphere. We provide you with a variety of room options so that you can make your event stand out from the rest, whether you prefer an open floor plan or a multidimensional space to which you can bring your own vision. The venues at Metropolist allow for complete personalization, which makes it an excellent choice as the location for a wedding, party, or corporate event in the Seattle area. The Center for Urban Horticulture is a 16-acre landscaped campus of the University of Washington Botanic Gardens, established in 1984 alongside the adjoining 74-acre Union Bay Natural Area, an ecological restoration laboratory where more than 200 bird species have been documented. Its buildings sit within display gardens and greenhouses used for horticultural research and education. At the center of the campus, Merrill Hall was the first certified "green building" on the UW Seattle campus and houses the Center's administrative offices, the Elisabeth C. Miller Library, and the Otis Douglas Hyde Herbarium. The Center rents both indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings, mitzvahs, memorials, conferences, and retreats, accommodating groups of 20 to 200 guests indoors and up to 350 outdoors. NHS Hall, the Center's main reception venue, can be divided into three sections and opens onto McVay Courtyard, while the adjoining glass-enclosed Merrill Commons serves as supplementary space for dining, breakout sessions, and dancing. Outdoors, couples and groups can gather among the trees of Goodfellow Grove or on the open Event Lawn, surrounded by the Center's gardens.

Redhook Brewlab’s concept is an intersection of Seattle history and culture, a place where the city’s eclectic influences mix – art, science, brewing, food, and music. Housed within the Pike Motorworks Building, Brewlab’s space is an open modern brewery and pub concept with an abundance of natural light. A focal point inside the brewpub is a custom mural by Grammy-nominated Seattle illustrator and Sub Pop Records Art Director Sasha Barr. The mural, which spans 14’ x 18’ on the wall near the front bar, is a colorful visual collage combining the city environment, people, beer, Seattle architecture, and elements from the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Large patios in the front and back of the space increase the seating capacity from 171 to 258, making the Redhook Brewlab’s total outdoor patio space the largest in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. The back patio features two firepits for a cozy beer drinking experience, and both patios will be open as weather allows.

ANGELO RICCI was a second-generation American, descended from a family in Pisterzo, Lazio, in the Monti Lepini—about 100km southeast of Rome. In May 1957, Angelo Ricci opened a delicatessen on the corner of SW 153rd Street and 6th Avenue SW in Burien. At first it was just a small counter and a few tables next to the only liquor store in town. Angelo learned his family’s method of Italian cooking from his father Michele, a grocer who had immigrated from Italy to Osawatomie, Kansas in 1911. Michele always emphasized the importance of the quality and freshness of ingredients. Angelo and his family rapidly expanded, offering a full dining room and lounge by the early 1960s. Angelo made a name for himself by bringing food from around the country and world to Burien.
