Burnside Plantation is a historic 6.5-acre farm property in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, established in 1748 by James and Mary Burnside and later operated as a Moravian Church communal farm. Captain William Williams, a Revolutionary War officer and member of Ethan Allen's Green Mountain Boys, purchased the property in 1769 and built the barn that still stands today; the family's original 1772-73 home now serves as the inn's main entrance and lobby. The nine-acre property sits atop a hill with meadows, forest, and a spring-fed pond. The 18th-century barn hosts weddings and private events for up to 150 guests, with 130 comfortably seated. Packages include 48 hours of property access before the ceremony, professional event coordination, tables, linens, china and flatware, décor inventory, custom up-lighting and pathway lighting, and an indoor dining room as a weather contingency. Mei Mei food is a reflection of the Li siblings' best childhood dining memories as Chinese-American youngsters growing up in Boston. "Mei Mei" means "little sister" in Mandarin Chinese. Mei Mei's unique dumpling combinations reflect our passion for wonderful New England ingredients and a desire to create delicious dishes. We work with small, independent family farms in the Northeast to acquire pasture-raised meat. Throughout the year, we may get 70 percent of our food from the Northeast. Mei Mei has been a "Open Book" firm since 2018, which means they disclose all financial information with all employees, empowering them to think and act like managers regardless of their position or title. The business has altered since the pandemic. Our food truck has been taken off the road, and our restaurant dining room has been closed. But Mei Mei isn't going anywhere; in fact, our dumplings are making their way all over the world! Its centerpiece, the Round Barn, was built in 1910 as a dairy barn and is one of only five remaining round barns in the state, now restored to host weddings, concerts, and private events across its Milking Parlor and Hayloft levels.
