Grey Towers Castle sits at the heart of Arcadia University's 76-acre campus in Glenside, Pennsylvania, just 12 miles north of Center City Philadelphia. Built in 1898 as the family home of sugar baron William Welsh Harrison, the Castle was designed by architect Horace Trumbauer, who drew inspiration from England's Alnwick Castle and later designed the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1985 and has been named among the most beautiful castles in the U.S. by Architectural Digest. Weddings and private events unfold across the first floor of the Castle, where guests enter the three-story Great Hall beneath a gilded, barrel-vaulted ceiling before moving into the Dining, Rose, and Laura Minerva Korman Mirror rooms. Water Works formerly drew visitors from all over the world, including Charles Dickens, who commended the "pleasing design" of the building for its blend of graceful Neoclassical architecture on the outside with then-revolutionary technology on the inside. Columned walkways, a vintage gazebo, the Art Museum perched dramatically above, and Boathouse Row stretched out along the Schuylkill River just beyond are some of the features that contribute to the Water Works' status as one of the city's most picturesque settings. Today, the Water Works offers lavish interior spaces that are replete with rich contemporary luxury. Adding an outdoor ceremony to your reception is something that should come as no surprise given the famous views, classically exquisite structures, groomed fields, and gardens that are all around you. The Water Works is home to a diverse range of environments, the likes of which are not often found in a single venue. The breathtaking scenery, tasteful architecture, and beautifully manicured grounds make it an obvious decision to hold the ceremony and reception outside.

The 1756 Uwchlan Meeting House is a fieldstone building in Lionville, Chester County, Pennsylvania, built by the area's Quaker community after John and Sarah Cadwalader donated the land in 1716. The stone structure that stands today replaced an earlier log meeting house, and it has witnessed more than two centuries of local history — including service as a makeshift hospital under Dr. Bono Otto during the Revolutionary War, when soldiers who died there were laid to rest in the adjacent burial ground. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. After the original Quaker congregation relocated to Downingtown in 1900, the meeting house took on new roles over the decades as a library and a school before the Woman's Community Club began restoring it in 1963. It has been owned and preserved by the Uwchlan Conservation Trust since 1976. Today the Meeting House is available to rent for meetings, weddings, family parties, memorial services, and other functions for up to seventy-five people, offering a small, historic setting with roots in the community dating back to the colonial era.
