The Sternberg Museum of Natural History, located in Hays, Kansas, is a natural history museum affiliated with Fort Hays State University. Its collections focus on the Great Plains region and include some of the finest assemblies of Pteranodon material and fossil plants, along with a realistic Cretaceous diorama that brings prehistoric life to life across the museum's main floor. The museum's roots trace to 1866, when fossils were first discovered near Fort Hays by members of the Sternberg family — renowned fossil hunters whose legacy shaped the institution for generations. A 1994 relocation to a former dome building merged two legacy collections and created the spacious facility that stands today. For private events, the Sternberg offers several distinct rental spaces suited to meetings, seminars, receptions, and celebrations of various sizes. The Engel Education Center on the third floor accommodates up to 86 guests and can be divided into two separate meeting areas. The Expeditions Meeting Room seats 65 and includes access to a connecting catering kitchen, making it a practical choice for parties and reunions. The Seibel Lobby, equipped with a built-in audio-visual system, serves as the venue's main event hall for receptions, lectures, awards ceremonies, and larger gatherings. Twenty-two acres of outdoor grounds and two miles of nature trail round out the options for open-air events.

It is a rare surviving example of the numerous social halls constructed in the nineteenth century for the immigrant and ethnic communities of New York City. Over the course of more than a century, the Bohemian National Hall (Czech National Hall, also known as the Czech National Hall) has served as an important center for Czech and Slovak culture in New York City. For more than a decade, it has served as a focal point for its community, providing ethnic food, Czech language and history classes, and space for its large community to gather and hold various events. For more than a decade, it has served as a focal point for its community, providing ethnic food, Czech language and history classes, and space for its large community to gather and hold various events. Currently, the Bohemian National Hall serves as a poignant reminder of the once-vibrant working-class ethnic enclave that once existed in Yorkville, as well as a monument to an important chapter in the history of immigrants in New York City and the United States. The Czech Republic acquired ownership of the Bohemian National Hall in 2001 when the Bohemian Benevolent & Literary Association (BBLA) transferred ownership to the government of the Czech Republic. In order to emphasize the building's ties to the Czech Republic, it is now housed in the same building as the Consulate General and the Czech Cultural Center. The BBLA takes up the entire third floor of the building.

We found a perfect cozy space at the end of an unused alley off the Bowery in the fall of 2004, and Freemans Restaurant was born. The restaurant's concept was to create a rough, secretive colonial American tavern. Early Americans imagined the cuisine to be simple, rustic, and inspired by Old World traditions. We've held everything from weddings and birthday parties to movie premieres, luncheons, wrap parties, bridal showers, and business dinners over the years. For seated dinner parties or cocktail celebrations, Freemans has three private rooms available. The entire second floor, including the drawing room, or the entire restaurant, can be rented for groups of 30 to 200 people. Our intimate working wine cellar provides an exceptional eating environment. In your own private wine cellar, seats 10-12 guests for a sit-down lunch or dinner. In an elegant 2nd floor dining room, the Blue Room seats 13-20 guests for a sit-down lunch or dinner, or up to 30 guests for a cocktail reception. Our largest single private room is the Red Room on the second floor. In an attractive 2nd floor dining room, seats 20-30 guests for a sit-down lunch or supper, or up to 40 guests for a cocktail reception. Guests can book the Red Room, Drawing Room, and Blue Room for large-scale gatherings. For a sit-down lunch or dinner, all three rooms can seat 30-80 people, or up to 100 people for a cocktail reception. Our second-floor private cocktail bar can accommodate groups of up to 25 people. We can seat 140 guests for a seated dinner or up to 200 guests for a cocktail reception with a full buyout. Reach out today to start planning your private dining experience!
