The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs occupies a building constructed around 1750 on the grounds of Historic Yellow Springs, a 142-acre living village and arts center in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. Originally built as a colonial tavern and inn, the building hosted General George Washington in 1777, when he visited soldiers convalescing in the Yellow Springs hospital he had commissioned in the village that year. Over the following centuries it served as a dining facility and dormitory for Civil War orphans, and later as a dining hall and residence for students of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. The main hall spans more than 2,000 square feet and seats up to 150 guests, with room left over for dancing. Two smaller rooms adjoin the hall and can be set up as a family lounge or for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, opening directly onto the surrounding gardens and courtyards. The main room is air-conditioned and fitted with custom lighting. David Bouley was born and reared in the Connecticut town of Storrs. David's childhood spent on his grandparents' farm had a profound influence on him. Inspired by their French ancestors, he acquired a passion for preparing nutritious meals from scratch using well selected, freshly prepared components. David began working in restaurants at a young age, and has since lived on Cape Cod, in Sante Fe, and in France and Switzerland, among other places. His experience working with some of Europe's most recognized chefs, such as Roger Vergé, Paul Bocuse, Joel Robuchon, Gaston Lenôtre and Frédy Giradet, followed his studies at the Sorbonne University. After gaining valuable expertise, David went on to work in some of New York's most prestigious restaurants at the time, including Le Cirque, Le Périgord, and La Côte Basque, among others. He also worked as a sous chef in a San Francisco restaurant owned by Roger Vergé for a short period of time. David went on to become the chef of the Montrachet restaurant in TriBeCa when it first opened its doors in 1985. The New York Times published a three-star review of the restaurant shortly after it opened, attracting widespread notice. The Tuscan Villa at Running Hare Vineyard is a multi-purpose facility that can be rented year-round for wedding receptions and ceremonies. It is located on the property's grounds. The rental fee includes the use of the ballroom, covered portico, tables, chairs, and dance floor, as well as the use of the kitchen. We provide our clients with the convenience of having their wedding ceremony and reception in the same location. With a paved walkway that leads from the bridal gate down the aisle to the Italian pergola, our ceremony site is set in the vineyard and is absolutely stunning! The rental of the ceremony site includes the use of white ceremony chairs, which are included in the price of the rental. The Villa also has a bridal suite, which is a wonderful place for the bride and her bridesmaids to relax and get ready for their big day! Pavilion on a hilltop In addition to being open-sided, the Hilltop Pavilion can accommodate up to 80 guests in a seated configuration. Tables and chairs are provided as part of the rental fee. The Arbors Events is a farm and woodland event destination set on a 112-acre tree farm in Cleveland, North Carolina. What began as a tree nursery in 2003 evolved into an event venue shaped by thousands of ornamental and shade trees, manicured lawns, majestic oaks, and perennial gardens spread across western Rowan County, near Lake Norman. The venue's primary event space, The Arbors, is a custom-built banquet facility constructed from stone, reclaimed barn wood, and cedar shakes. Its 4,700-square-foot heated and cooled interior centers on a grand fireplace and includes a full bar and catering prep area, while the adjacent outdoor spaces feature a wildflower field ceremony area, two fire pits, and a three-acre pond. A separate reception facility, The Lodge, adds 4,200 square feet of climate-controlled banquet space with a similar rustic character.
