The Dairy Barn Arts Center is a National Register of Historic Places landmark in Athens, Ohio, housed in a Georgian Revival dairy barn built in 1914 for the Athens State Hospital. When the facility's dairy operation ceased in 1977, community advocates led by Harriet Anderson preserved the building and established it as a nonprofit arts center in 1978. The Morton Museum of Collierville History is housed in a Gothic Revival church built in 1873, one of the town's most distinctive landmarks. The building served as the home of the Collierville Christian Church until 1992, gaining its stained-glass windows, bell tower, and decorative carpentry during a 1906 renovation that gave it its current character, including the two-story corner tower that once held the largest bell in Shelby County. Chickasaw State Park spans 1,435 acres of pine-hardwood forest in West Tennessee, built during the 1930s as one of the state's original New Deal-era parks. The Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration developed the land, and the park takes its name from the Chickasaw Nation that once inhabited the region. Two lakes, Lake Placid and Lake LaJoie, anchor the park's recreation areas, and thirteen historic WPA cabins near Lake Placid remain in use today. For events, the park's centerpiece is the Sagamore Lodge, a stone-and-brick WPA-era building with two stone fireplaces and 1,446 square feet of space that seats up to 100 guests for weddings, family reunions, and meetings.
