Hi, we are Robin and Carolyn Hoffos, and we would like to introduce you to Lavender & Olive. Our ranch here in San Diego has been our happy place for the past twenty years. We have so many wonderful memories at this venue hosting everything from parties to celebrations. We’ve hosted friends and family and now we’d like to host you. Our love story began many moons ago, when Carolyn offered Robin a scotch and soda (which Robin hates) at a friend’s going away party and he gladly accepted. Since then, we’ve dreamed up, built, and ran several companies and ventures together, learning and growing each step of the way. Today, we are excited to welcome you to our beautiful event venue. We love to build and create, and this is the next chapter in our journey of creation, and we look forward to sharing it with you!

Perched in the rolling hills of Ramona, California, Mt. Woodson Castle is one of Southern California's most extraordinary event venues — a historic estate where old-world grandeur meets the natural beauty of the San Diego backcountry. Originally envisioned by renowned San Diego dress designer Amy Strong, construction began in 1909 and culminated in 1920 with a 12,000-square-foot, 27-room masterpiece that stands as a stunning embodiment of the American Craftsman Movement. Amy personally selected stones from the slopes of Mt. Woodson, and the home was built using eucalyptus, oak, and redwood harvested directly from the property. No chalk lines were ever used in construction — resulting in no perfect corners and intentionally uneven floors and rooflines that give the castle an irreplaceable sense of character. Four-foot-thick walls, a Great Hall with a soaring 16-foot ceiling, four fireplaces, and an eclectic architectural identity define this one-of-a-kind property. Mt. Our Tasting Room Our tasting room is located in the historic Rockwood Farmhouse (built in 1885), in the heart of the San Pasqual Valley wine region, just minutes from the San Diego Safari Park. We provide hayride tours through the vineyards and orchards, as well as live music, to enhance the experience of tasting our wines at our facility. Also pet- and child-friendly, our tasting room provides shade in the garden as well as indoor air conditioning during the hot summer months.
