Flora Corner Farm is a working farm wedding venue set on family land in Mechanicsville, Maryland, about 90 minutes from Washington D.C., Annapolis, and Virginia. The property has been passed down through generations — originally cultivating tobacco, now growing soybeans, corn, and sunflowers — and that agricultural heritage gives the setting a genuinely rural character that's harder to manufacture. The venue accommodates up to 130 guests inside the heated and air-conditioned barn, or up to 150 guests with an outdoor dance floor. Wedding packages range from a Basic Reception to a Premier option that includes extensive furniture and décor choices; à la carte menus round out the catering offerings. Dressing rooms are available for the bridal party, and guests are welcome to wander the lawn and flower gardens between ceremony and reception. Flora Corner Farm hosts one event at a time, making the entire property private for each booking. Tours are available by appointment, and planning consultations are scheduled 90 days out to finalize event details.

Oliver's Carriage House is a historic event venue set in Columbia, Maryland, within a two-story stone structure that dates to the early 1800s. Originally built as the barn and stables for Oakland, a large Howard County estate, the building was acquired by the Kittamaqundi Community in 1972 and thoughtfully renovated by 1977 — adding new flooring, lofted spaces, finished woodwork, and two stone fireplaces that now anchor both levels. The venue accommodates up to 125 guests and offers a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor settings. Inside, exposed wooden beams, original stone walls, and fireplace surrounds lend a warm and distinctive character that sets it apart from conventional banquet spaces. Outside, the Sacred Garden — completed in 2014 — provides a landscaped ceremony setting with a pond and waterfall, a labyrinth, an archway, and ample seating, all within a tree-lined natural landscape. Oliver's Carriage House is a DIY-friendly venue with no vendor restrictions, complementary Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, in-house tables and chairs for 125, an elevator, a sound system, and on-site parking. In 1823, John Miller built his hotel and tavern at the intersection of the Pike and Spickler Roads in the town of Spickler. It was one of the first stagecoach stops on the new National Pike when it was built. "There were large rooms adapted for dancing purposes, and young men and maidens from the neighborhood frequently tripped to the notes of the old time music in its spacious halls," wrote T.B. Searight of this well-known spot in 1894. The waltz was unheard of, and the figures ranged from the 'hoe down' to the cotillion, with the 'Virginia Reel' serving as the closing number. It was almost unavoidable that the old waggoneers were invited to participate in these festivities, and they did so with a fervor that could not be matched by the young men and women from the surrounding Clear Spring neighborhood." In 1864, the Miller's Farmstead site was the site of a Civil War skirmish that took place nearby. Confederate General John McCausland was planning a march from Clear Spring to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and he happened to pass through Mercersburg. Confederate Major Harry Gilmor led 200 men on a diversionary route along the National Road, giving the impression that the main strike was to be directed at Hagerstown, which was not the case. Gilmor was caught in an ambush by the Union army near Spickler's Hill, near Miller's Farmstead, and was forced to flee. It is still possible to see the bullet holes and cannon ball marks on the east wall of what was once Miller's Tavern, which was destroyed during the battle.
